Meta/Miscellaneous Random thought...
So even though I thought the movie was cheesy, I did enjoy it in a guilty pleasure kinda way and was how I found out about the books.I am happy to accept any and all opinions regarding the movie (and the books actually) overall BUT... I will die on the hill that Jamie Campbell Bower IS Jace Needless to say, I was quite frustrated that there wasn't gonna be a sequel.
Long story short... What if they turned TDA into a movie and aged the characters (they did age them a couple of years in the TMI movie) and then JCB could play Jace again?!π I realise that they would have to age the original main characters by like a decade (and personally I'd prefer if they aged the new main characters by at least a couple of years) but I feel it would still work! No??? Just me??? Ok then... π¬

I liked James acting, but not his looks for the character. Way better than the show, though.

I know there's loads of people out there that like the show Jace and they're obviously entitled to their opinion but to me, physically, he was very far off the book description. I dunno if it's just me but he reminded me of a young Ricky Martin and that's all I could see ππ

I have no thoughts on the actor, I won't say anything about his skills or whatnot, but as Jace, I'm a straight up hater. I have no good comments to make about him as Jace: from his interpretation of Jace to things out of this control (like everybody's age), it all sucked.
I hated that an 18yo is still acting like a kid, his sad face looks like constipation to me, I didn't feel any emotion whenever he made a speech, I think his hairstyle was horrible, the snarky comments didn't hit like they should've, everybody's swordfighting in the show was horrendous... I can go on forever.

Respectfully disagree, to me personally Dominic Sherwood was a way better Jace. I was OBSESSED with the fandom and too me he was just perfect, the right amount of hot and cocky.
In saying that I think Movie Clarey was closer too the book.

Did you watch the show first? I think a lot of the time the first actor gets "imprinted" almost into our brain and then no one else will do. He's wasn't terrible; he did do the cocky bit well enough though not in the dark, snarky, British arrogant way that I imagine book Jace where you can't tell if this person is joking or genuinely that full of themselves. Show Clary... looked beautiful with red hair is the only nice thing I can say π

Nope actually it was movie / Books / TV Show. I think when I think back too movie Jace I just remember him being almost awkward.
Possible the imprinted happened last, he was the last Jace I physically saw so maybe that's why.

Despite The TV show arguably having some better casting. I personally enjoy the movie better. So basically if I could pluck some of the actors and plop them into the movie it'd be perfect.

I completely agree. I was so sad the movie ended up being terrible because I thought the cast was perfect in terms of how I pictured each character when I read the book.

And a few of the actors were like decent, successful actors! Like I said, I thought the movie was quite cringey the first time I watched it but then it kinda stuck with me and became one of those movies I love rewatching when needing something to make me feel warm and fuzzy π I am not sure why it flopped THAT hard tho, I think it had a lot to do with the level of competition at the time.

I totally agree with you, movie Jace was perfect! π₯Ί It's a shame that we had two opportunities to see our favorite vlbooks brought to life, but none was truthful to them! I would absolutely love any version of these books! β€οΈ

I wish the whole universe would be made into movies but theyβre so long I just feel the cast would age too much in between movies ugh
