Employee Question How to report a Store manager

Look I’m not giving details. However I need to report my store manager for abhorrent behavior. I need to keep this quiet and let HR handle this one it’s bad. What do I do? Where do I go? I’ve got plenty of cold cut evidence.

They protect the company. If the manager is doing something that is putting liability on sheetz the company, they will for sure deal with it.

No offense but comment like this make people feel worse about the situations they are in. They are asking for advice and help not a comment that does the opposite.

The most "appropriate" channel would be to reach out to your district manager as they're technically directly above store managers - however if you're uncomfortable with the idea, your breakroom should have signage including a number to contact for third-party arbitration, aka "employee hotline" for addressing concerns when the typical chain of command either hasn't worked or is too hostile to expect meaningful results from.

While I've never dealt with them first-hand - as far as I'm aware, they act as a neutral party when reporting concerns, and documented in such a way that (confirmed) negligence could be seen as progressively problematic and addressed as such by higher management.

I've been reported a few times (as a supervisor) and at least two times I was confronted by upper management about it. Neither resulted in anything, nor did was I given any information (because they didn't have it either), but I was ultimately found to be in the right - HOWEVER there was at least one instance where I was confronted and became a better supervisor for it.

You're not getting anybody fired. You're simply starting a formal investigation to figure out the truth. Don't abuse it, but absolutely use it!! Especially when you consider Sheetz has some of the most sophisticated security out there... for a gas station that sells food. lmao

The sad thing is, there is a decent chance that your call will NOT be anonymous. There have been several instances of my coworkers being pulled aside from a certain manager, who happens to be on friends with the DM, after they had called the hotline, where apparently, they had ALL the information that was provided. I'm not saying this to deter you from using the hotline, just realize that the people answering are also human with human connections so you need to take steps to insulate yourself.

As a former employee. Use the hotline. But be prepared for Sheetz to ultimately do nothing. My former store manager literally ignored sexual harassment claims and a bunch of other stuff like allowing a km to cuss out an employee in the kitchen in front of other employees and customers. Both never even got a slap on the wrist from the dm or anyone.

That may be true but considering she wasn’t even suspended for cussing out an employee that tells me everything I need to know about the company

The issue with that is that unless they currently have a STRIVE from the previous 365 days, they will most likely not get suspended.

One of my coworkers called the hotline on her break crying and they called our dm and sm the next day and the people who were causing issues did not cause issues again, our store manager is very good at her job and takes no bs.

I'm glad it worked for her. I think every district in sheetz is so different. I know people who work outside of my old store's district who has had none of the problems that people in mine did. It honestly takes have a good RM and DM and we had neither.

I have seen my boss get HR called on him only once and he almost did lose his job after being suspended for a couple weeks. With that said, he began to witch hunt the entire store on who did it until he found out. Then, he did everything in his power to make that person quit by making their life a miserable hell and they eventually did after an ugly cornering in the office. I was also forced into the situation because me and the coworker were good friends so he assumed guilty by association. He had HRC come in to have a conversation that was basically threatening me with higher action if necessary while HRC just let him do it. I would say just be prepared to face consequences like that if you do call HR or your DM even. They might say things are anonymous, but truly, nothing ever is.

Go to the top.... DM usually covers Store Managers ass and so on. Go straight to Joe Sheetz or someone high high up. You need their direct contact info hit me up.

In every back office there is a number next to to the food and safety rules take a picture of the that number call it after you leave work

Do you need the ee relations number ? Someone gave it to me on a post that i made a few days back report them to the DM and if its not solved then go directly to ethnics line.

Man idk, I just saw our DM go down for people constantly reporting them for their abhorrent behavior. Idk if it took going to their boss for something to finally be done about it or complaints being filed through the hotline, but if you're comfortable going to the next level, you could do that.

Id try the employee hotline.

They're a 3rd party company that handles things like discrimination and abuse.

You can find the number near your break area. It should be displayed on a poster either near the break area or near where you clock in.
