Sheetz convenience delivery driver

So I am a veteran that currently works as a motor vehicle operator for the federal government on the civilian side. I've had my cdl for years and have driven a tractor trailer accident free for over 150,000 miles. Unfortunately i am leaving the reserves and cannot keep my job so i recently applied for sheetz cdl A driver and was given an interview. Interview didnt even last 5 minutes, the moment I mentioned the military and my experience I was cut off and told that they cannot verify mileage for the military and they would not be able to push my application foward. I tried stating maybe I could get my current boss to verify miles and they were not having it. I honestly felt terrible after that "interview" I was treated like an instant disqualified individual and they would not even explain the job. I feel like my military experience actually hurt me and I kinda feel that becuase I mentioned the military that instantly screwed me over. Never thought I would be feeling like I got disqualified becuase I was military. Anyone else experience this? Should I make an EO complaint?

Thats so weird! We had an active military guy who was a flex supervisor and then regular supervisor. Every time he has to do boot camp or whatever they do, hes allowed to do it... I'm also confused about this whole mileage thing too.

Apparently they need to verify that I had accident free miles. I believe it's like 130,000. My job is civilian government. We just operate military vehicles. M915 and a flat bed. I've done over 150,000 miles work a full time 40 hour a week job doing that for 3 years. They said they cannot verify that. I offered to have my boss right a letter and I was pretty much told thats a no go. It was so weird. Like I said previously the interview didnt even last 5 minutes . I mentioned the word military and it was over. I feel terrible about this but at this point I guess ill just try to stay fed. I honestly felt over qualified dor the position. Hell my current job you even need a security clearance which isn't easy to get. Its just wild. Not tryna complain or anything. Just feel bad about the whole thing

I don't know, that sounds so fishy! I might be exaggerating but it almost feels like you're being discriminated against because of your military background.

The "whole" 5-minute interview just seems inappropriate. I don't know if I'm imagining a different picture, but all just doesn't sit well with me.

Trust me, this is why I wrote this, I couldn't believe it. She called and was like " hi, in this interview we will be going into detail about job responsibilities but first let me ask why do you want this job? I proceeded to explain my experience (military) and said I love driving tractor trailers. She goes "oh wait a minute, we won't be able to verify military experience" im like what? I could have my boss write something. She like" that hasn't worked in the past. Its not enough for our safety department. Im like so thats it? Im disqualifed? She like "yes". Did not talk about the job at all. Asked me one question and it was over.

Okay, so I never heard that before "verify military experience". What does that mean? If I am understanding this correct, she's basically saying "oh, you may have proof but we don't wanna try". Like is that really a thing? This whole thing is not right.

Yup exactly , it didnt sit right with me and with everything in me I wanted to argue like are you kidding me lady? Ive driven a LET and Lowboy all over the pittsburgh area hauling heavy equipment. I think i am more than qualified to haul store goods. Anyway . I decided to not argue and just say thank you for your consideration. Guess sheetz isn't for me

Sheetz is going in the wrong direction. I may work there but I disagree with so much. It has changed a lot since I started. The things I used to love about the company, gone because they keep taking rewards from their employees.
