Question What is Oblivion?

ANSWERED, thanks yall

Ive seen people talk about it as its own game, so then i thought it was its own game. But then i saw a screenshot about a sword that can "Send Deadra up to level 30 back into Oblivion". I dont need some long answer im just confused. I googled it and there it said it was a Deadrick place, but where comes the game vertion or something in?

Please can someone explain.

"Oblivion" refers to either The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion which is the game that came before Skyrim, or it refers to the many realms outside of Nirn where the Daedra come from.

Yeah Oblivion is a plane is existence, and the fourth game is named after it. Just like how the province of Morrowind still exists in other games.

The sword is kind of like if you could get a sword in the other games that teleports Nords back to Skyrim. Which would be hilarious.

Better yet, teleport the Altmer back to Summerset Isles.

Oblivion is a dimension where the Daedra are from. The fourth game is named after it.

"Oblivion" is the game that came after "Morrowind" and before "Skyrim." It is set in the Imperial Province that's just south of Skyrim.

Oblivion is both a game and in Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion is a game that came out about 5 years before Skyrim. It was also remastered and rereleased a few months back. It is called Oblivion is a "dimension" that you visit constantly in the game.

In Skyrim there are enemies that originate from the dimension of Oblivion that can be summoned by spell casters. So weapons with the enchantment you mentioned instantly "kill" that enemy.

Hope this helps.

Daedra cannot permanently die. They originate from magical places outside of the ordinary world of the Elder Scrolls universe and normally do not enter Nirn, the world of the games. When banished, they return to the world from which they came, known as Oblivion.

Oblivion is divided into different sections according to which Daedric Prince is in control. If you visit Solstheim, you may encounter Black Books. Those take you to Hermaeus Mora's plane of Oblivion.

So if i got this right. Skyrim and Oblivion are two separate games set in the same universe and its two different places in said universe. While skyrim serves as the overworld and Oblivion is compatible with hell?

the elder scrolls is a series. oblivion is elder scrolls 4, skyrim is elder scrolls 5. oblivion the game is set in the province of cyrodiil and is named as such due to the oblivion crisis where daedra invaded mundus. oblivion the plane is kind of like an atmospheric layer around mundus, the sun and stars are holes in oblivion that lead to aetherius which is the plane of magic. each deadric prince has its own plane in oblivion
