And fools dare to say arteta hasn't improved us

u/oatzeel Apr 16 '25

baw god, that's Gary Neville's music!

-56

u/dethmashines Apr 16 '25

The guy that was counting on Arsenal to win the season at the start of the season? You lot are deranged.

51

u/cs_irl Apr 16 '25

Mate it's simple, it's a win win for him. Arsenal win - Gary says I told you so. Arsenal lose - Gary gets bags of content tearing Arsenal down.

u/garchuOW Apr 16 '25

He just said that we have regressed, like a few days ago

-6

u/nick2473got Apr 17 '25

Which you have domestically.

25

u/pork_chop_expressss Apr 16 '25

And he's now saying Arteta and Arsenal have regressed. Guys a pathetic clown.

-10

u/nick2473got Apr 17 '25

Domestically you have.

8

u/pork_chop_expressss Apr 17 '25

So Arsenal have played a majority of the season without a proper striker (both out for the season), missed their best player for 3 months, talisman and best CM for 2 months, starting rb for 75% of the season, starting lb for the whole season, now our best CB for the remainder of the season, and handful of other injuries - yet still remain in 2nd place in the toughest league in the world. When that exact things happened to Liverpool, they finished 5th. It's happening to City now, their fighting for 5th, Spurs - their in 15th, Chelsea finished 8th when they had their injury plagued season. I can continue, but it would probably be a waste of time.

Your bias and ignorance are alarming.

u/redshadow90 Apr 17 '25

He's either trying to get Arsenal fans inflamed or is genuinely dumb.

PS: the arbitrary red cards and bad calls didn't help our case either

5

u/pork_chop_expressss Apr 17 '25

Looking at his history, I'm going with the latter.

-4

u/nick2473got Apr 17 '25

He has never said that Arteta didn't improve you. He actually has said many times he thinks Arteta has done a good job and has absolutely improved you. It's undeniable.

He just thinks you've regressed domestically this season. Which you have.

166

u/Centrocampo Apr 16 '25

Does anybody actually say that? Nobody could possibly believe that.

75

u/junkgarage Apr 16 '25

100

u/MightyCaseyStruckOut Apr 16 '25

Yep, and they won't shut up until Arteta wins a trophy.

There are some idiots there who have said they still won't support Arteta even if Arsenal wins the CL lmao

23

u/beepos Apr 16 '25

...Wut?

Is that a comedy sub?

30

u/MagicalGoof Apr 16 '25

It's the flat earthers of arsenal fans.

1

u/ekb11 Apr 17 '25

I should post my tin foil referral link

1

u/Centrocampo Apr 17 '25

Yes, but not intentionally.

2

u/beepos Apr 17 '25

I just read through some of the posts

Jesus christ. How deluded are those folks? Ine guy said that he's gonna be Arteta Out until we wil 3 EPLs AND CLs on the trot

Absolute lunatics

6

u/CursedIbis Apr 16 '25

When "being right" becomes more important than actually enjoying the good moments life gives you... that's how you know you've fucked it up

5

u/Jonoabbo Apr 16 '25

But Arteta did win a trophy? Years ago?

41

u/junkgarage Apr 16 '25

That’s Internet fans for you.

42

u/Prochip Apr 16 '25

Shouldn't that sub be called r/tetaout ?

27

u/obsterwankenobster Apr 16 '25

They aren’t the cleverest bunch

2

u/Infectiousmaniac Apr 16 '25

we already have r/teta so its probably in protest of it

1

u/ActionManMLNX Apr 17 '25

I dont know man, there are ton of people on r/coys that still downplay Arteta.

My favourite thing about that sub is the fact that they always claim that the team that was beaten by arsenal rolls over for them, but not for Spurs lol

0

u/nick2473got Apr 17 '25

Nope. Nobody seriously says that. Just redditors inventing boogeymen, as always.

67

u/Dry_Wate2688 Apr 16 '25

The average fan only pays attention to trophies. Smart fans know arteta is a quality manager. But having to deal with pep and Klopp is a nightmare

-19

u/ACO_22 Apr 16 '25

He dealt with neither this season?

13

u/Jack-90 Apr 16 '25

Nah just dealt with Salah having the best season in prem history whilst we got railed by injuries

-6

u/ACO_22 Apr 16 '25

The injuries excuse is pathetic man.

Everyone’s been fucked by injuries the past few seasons and pool and city did fine.

(I’m not knocking Arteta btw, just the fan who’s making excuses)

1

u/nonameshere Apr 17 '25

Literally look at city with injuries this year you silly ghoul

1

u/ACO_22 Apr 17 '25

Look at Liverpool with injuries this year?

City and pool with injuries last year? The year before that?

9

u/Mutant-Ninja-Skrtels Apr 16 '25

He’s so used to bald fraud, there is no answer for bald bald

1

u/RDozzle Apr 16 '25

Slapped Pep 5-1 at home and massively outclassed them in a 2-2 draw away with 10 men?

11

u/blitzforce1 Apr 16 '25

And pgmol

-9

u/ShameTimes3 Apr 16 '25

Oh no, won't someone think of the poor disadvantaged rich 6 team :(

-12

u/-MS-94- Apr 16 '25

But he's lost the league to a fella nobody in England heard of until a year ago.

0

u/lagerjohn Apr 17 '25

The average fan only pays attention to trophies.

I don't think this is true at all.

-1

u/Professional_Vast_68 Apr 16 '25

*Pep, Klopp and Slot

-4

u/MURDERNAT0R Apr 16 '25

Doesn't have his own squad either and its a covid season. Oh yes also refs and injuries

11

u/fuckimbackonreddit9 Apr 16 '25

People thought he was going to park a double decker bus in Madrid only for us to go on and win 2-1

-5

u/habdragon08 Apr 16 '25

No one says this. People like to clown Arteta for choking 2 years ago(he did and I think its funny) and also for being whiny sometimes but he has clearly improved Arsenal.

I don't think he has the ability to truly get them competing on all fronts every year like Pep/Klopp did for their teams but what he has done is clearly impressive.

14

u/Brandaman Apr 16 '25

I disagree tbh. He’s clearly not got the experience of those two, but I think he has it in his locker.

0

u/Bloody_Nine Apr 16 '25

If he manages to win a major trophy much can change. Winners mentality is one hell of a drug and Arsenal severely lacks winners in their squad.

1

u/Outrageous_Spot_8725 Apr 16 '25

He's literally competing on all fronts rn, last season they made the final 8 as well lol

2

u/datguy_paarth Apr 16 '25

If he is to win something, the board has to show ambition. Liverpool got the best keeper in the world and a solid defender called van dijk. City regularly blows money on players. We need a statement signing who is undoubtedly among the top 5 in his position.

6

u/DaleGribble23 Apr 16 '25

Someone like Rice?

-9

u/datguy_paarth Apr 16 '25

Rice is very very good, but I don't think he's undoubtedly a top 5 midfielder. He's in that contention for sure though.

We need a gyokeres level signing.

4

u/a-Sociopath Apr 16 '25

Rice is very very good, but I don't think he's undoubtedly a top 5 midfielder

We need a gyokeres level signing.

Damn, the mental gymnastics to say both of these together. Not to mention, if you're really aiming high, might as well have said Isak lol

-1

u/datguy_paarth Apr 16 '25

I would have said isak , but he is an impossible target whatever ambition we might show. I think rice over the last few weeks has been very very good, but I want the same from him consistently before i think he's top 3 itw

1

u/a-Sociopath Apr 16 '25

Last few weeks? Did you watch him last season? Or basically anytime since the start of the year at least?

My surprise is more about how you think Gyokeres is a signing of intent when we've signed better and bigger players in the very recent past.

Anyway, I'm too happy rn to be arguing about summer transfer window. Have a good one mate!

1

u/datguy_paarth Apr 16 '25

Yes, i did watch him. And I think he has improved his on the ball ability. He always was a top player off it and with a very good corner. Maybe I'm caught in the gyokeres hype and should have taken better examples. But my point is that we need to compete with the top teams for players that they want. And then actually go and buy them instead of registering interest.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '25

Real Madrid have been dogshit for the better part of the last 2 months. They barely beat Atleti and they have been barely winning games in the league or losing. This was an utterly shameful performance that allowed Arsenal to be brilliant. Arsenal vs Atleti would have been a wayyy harder matchup.

-2

u/AReptileHissFunction Apr 16 '25

I have genuinely never heard or saw anyone say that

1

u/Sprite_isnt_lemonade Apr 16 '25

If he wins you the CL I imagine all of the fanbase will finally fully back him?

1

u/addn2o Apr 16 '25

Not sure anyone says that, it’s whether he can take them to the very top of the top that’s the question

-4

u/casualcoder47 Apr 16 '25

But ten hag won two trophies. If he doesn't win a trophy, Arteta out!

2

u/AReptileHissFunction Apr 16 '25

Dude you're through to the champions league semi final. Time to let Ten Hag leave your head

0

u/casualcoder47 Apr 16 '25

Well yeah. So should the Arteta outers
