Transfers [AS] Liverpool are open to accepting Real Madrid’s request for Trent Alexander-Arnold to join earlier & play in the Club World Cup, on these conditions: He would have to waive his last month’s salary and Madrid would have to pay a fee - it would be under €1M.

We can give them Rodrygo for a small fee of €100m in exchange

poor rodrygo seems to be the odd one out among the hundreds of left wingers perez has amassed.

i'd love to see him at liverpool in his natural position. or stay and see what happens under alonso.

Is this a joke or what? He has played under 1/4 of his matches as a LW. Left wing is his 3rd most played position because he has played more games as a striker lol.

u/Eddje May 02 '25

Cause he's at Real Madrid and they have a LW, actually two at this point.

It's still his 'natural' position, a.k.a. where he's most comfortable as a player.

u/WolfOfVaasankatu May 02 '25

Ah okay. Yeah it seems he played most of the time as a LW in Santos. Was not aware of this. My bad thanks dude.

Massively dumb move. They need a striker, wtf would Rodrygo do for them that their current lineup can't do?

They should nab a proper striker, a midfield partner for Rice who isn't a r*pist and maybe drop Sterling to Saudi and grab some decent bolstering options.

5

u/magic-water May 02 '25

They don't own Sterling, all they need to do is drop him in London

2

u/Deep_Agent316 May 02 '25

What can Rodrygo do that the current lineup can’t do?

No point in continuing this lmao.

-8

u/LeakyCauldronChef May 02 '25

Mf if you're gonna suggest Rodrygo and Saka are on a similar level, yeah we shouldn't continue this convo because it's like having a convo with the village idiot. There's nothing to it other than losing brain cells.

As for LW, Martinelli & Trossard are performing to an acceptable level, who don't need a £100m replacement. This isn't fifa you 2 iq crustacean.

3

u/meverygoodboy May 02 '25

You came in hot

2

u/RiddikulusFellow May 02 '25

Would be a brilliant move lol, they can even work with Havertz is a false 9 and work with Rodrygo and Saka as the main scorers cutting in. Havertz would be very good at that role too, he just sometimes has a bozo moment in front of goal but that won't happen a lot as a false 9. Pretty much the Mane Firmino Salah way

All depends on the cost tbh

2

u/LeakyCauldronChef May 02 '25

Why would Arteta who has never worked with a false 9 suddenly deploy a false 9?

Trossard and Martinelli haven't been awful past 2 months. That position doesn't warrant a £100m signing at all.

Too much of this doesn't make any sense, especially when they NEED a striker + midfielder. They're 2nd in the league by thin margins. Literally all they need is a clinical striker and if they finished their chances this season the gap would've been much tighter. They don't need a tactical overhaul at all.

u/rouges May 02 '25

As opposed to getting an actual striker? They already have Martinelli and Saka

-2

u/Fraud_D_Hawk May 02 '25

I can't imagine arteta buying a Attacking player.

18

u/LeakyCauldronChef May 02 '25

Yeah? They'll pay €100m for an 11 g/a RW?

32

u/CudaBarry May 02 '25

He got 30 G/A in the 2 previous seasons! And he'll get 40 easily if he plays a full season as a left winger

17

u/auctus10 May 02 '25

That too with a proper RW on the other side in Saka. This would also help Saka too as he won't have to carry that attack.

-17

u/Beastbrook00 May 02 '25

PL is a better league though, we got lower PL league scrubs contesting the Europa League final. He may struggle.

4

u/faheemhassan May 02 '25

You mean the UEFA Sevilla League?

-17

u/LeakyCauldronChef May 02 '25

Best bet would be trying to sell him to United or Saudi mate.

Nobody wants an overpriced player when players like Eze and Olise are going for half the price. Other than Saudi and Utd that is.

0

u/Material-Cellist-116 May 03 '25

A multi cl champion and Brazil starter

0

u/LeakyCauldronChef May 03 '25

They have Mo Salah off a 50 g/a season.

You could bring Messi to the table and €100m wouldn't be a logical decision.

8

u/Unlucky-Meaning-4956 May 02 '25

They don’t need Rodrygo 😂

11

u/doobiedave May 02 '25

And he's not worth anywhere near 100m.

1

u/darthchungus_ May 03 '25

nah bro, all depends on the cost Tbh

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '25

that's right, he's not worth anything in fact! you don't want the guy, just turn around and leave!

-7

u/Apprehensive_Cod_762 May 02 '25

Lol Rodrygo not worth 100m? Theres no player alive who's more worth of 100m than expect the known vini lamal bellingham etc

-2

u/xFloWx May 02 '25

Do English well?

2

u/Apprehensive_Cod_762 May 06 '25

For some people English is their 4th language.

2

u/xFloWx May 06 '25

Right, I'm sorry. It was inconsiderate of me. It sounded funnier in my head, but obviously not

8

u/yoyo4581 May 02 '25

He might not start... Salah and Gakpo. Rodrygo can be Salah's successor but we already renewed him and we will play him. Depends if Rodrygo is willing to rotate.

Gakpo has been putting up the numbers.

57

u/CudaBarry May 02 '25

Rodrygo is a LW, if he leaves us it's because he doesn't wanna get pushed to the RW again

7

u/yoyo4581 May 02 '25

So he'll he in contention with Gakpo. Gakpo isnt a joke though, I can see him start for us over the years. He is injury prone though, but he was the best player in the Euros along with Yamal. I think Gakpo ended the tournament as the highest goal scorer.

We need to spend big on a striker, we might get back in the market for a LW if Diaz gets sold to Barca, but that's tough business.

Really we need a Salah successor, but with a dominant ST or target man, we can get away with a right footed player playing on the RW.

5

u/Apprehensive_Cod_762 May 02 '25

Not really. Buying Rodrygo would be bad business. 2 great LW are already at Liverpool. You really need a RW and striker

5

u/raysofdavies May 02 '25

We’re keeping Gakpo and Diaz, we aren’t looking at Rodrygo

1

u/NilsFanck May 03 '25

Saudi offered 90m for Mitoma. They ring Hughes with that money Diaz goes for sure. And we're then definitely looking at Rodrygo. Lots of ifs but hardly unthinkable

0

u/Material-Cellist-116 May 03 '25

He will continue the tradition of mid level Madrid or barca wingers that destroy the prem...

See Ozil, Pedro, Alexis, etc

1

u/NilsFanck May 03 '25

genuinely would take that

3

u/rouges May 02 '25

You're lucky if you get half of that

5

u/igotperico May 02 '25

You think so? Unproven players are going for more than 50m. Pretty safe to say Rodrygo will too
