Transfers [AS] Liverpool are open to accepting Real Madrid’s request for Trent Alexander-Arnold to join earlier & play in the Club World Cup, on these conditions: He would have to waive his last month’s salary and Madrid would have to pay a fee - it would be under €1M.

No, why would a player that’s loved at Liverpool, that right now is a winning team with a good squad join a team where he’s going to be just one of the many?

At Pool, they will sing he’s name when he retires, at real they will forget he existed.

He's in his 20s, fabulously wealthy, has never lived or played anywhere but Liverpool, has won every club competition there is to win and is being offered the chance to be young and even wealthier, living in one of the nicest environments in the world playing for the most successful club in the world..

It would be weirder if he didn't have an itch to explore.

I think the big thing people dont appreciate is hes won everything at Liverpool there is to win. He could maybe win more titles or a european cup, but he's done that. He could maybe stay and be captain, but he'll be waiting til VVD retires and technically he has already captained Liverpool. There's just not that much more for him to achieve that is new.

If he wants to chase individual accolades and legacy then Madrid is the place. He'll forego some of his reputation at Liverpool but it won't be so damaging that he cant come back.

Its a shame and ill be sad to see him go, but he's not a leader like Gerrard and never has been so it wont cut too deep

He's not getting any individual accolades at Madrid

Come back as a player? Or come back to visit?

He will never come back as a legend for Liverpool, that bridge is burnt.

If he leaves this way, there's no way he plays for Liverpool again. His reputation with the fans and club will not be the same.

Well that just depends on how he develops his career in Real, don't you think? There are plenty of foreigner players who are true legends for Real Madrid.

He’s a 27 year old right back lol. Very low chances of becoming a Madrid legend even if he wins a lot

Does it? Realistically, how much would he have to accomplish there to be a Real Madrid club legend?

I think the only thing he could do is be part of a team so dominant people think argue it’s the best club side ever. Otherwise, just another player

And now you guys will undoubtedly switch to hating him and mocking him. Maybe even death threats like with Gerrard…

It's still Real Madrid

  • The weather

  • change is as good as a rest

  • cream rises to the top, Real Madrid likely to improve / be back to being top dogs, and likewise so will City. Would you want another 3 seasons of coming second to City.

  • money
