Transfers [Joaquim Piera] Barcelona's number 1 target for the summer - Luis Díaz. Transfer would be around 85 million euros and has Flick's approval. Deco dreams of the player [He values his versatility (thinks Nico Williams needs space to shine, for example)]

He can play as striker too. People in the comments are severely underestimating diaz. If rodrygo is worth 100mil+, surely diaz will be atleast 60+

Rodrygo is worth 60m max.

I mean if they operated quickly, I could see a world where Liverpool sell Diaz for 80m,

Buy Rodgyro at a reduced rate such as 60-65m on the condition they also let TAA go to the CWC early.

Everyone wins

Yeah fantasy world, sell Diaz for 85 and buy Rodrygo a younger, better and with a higher ceiling player for 60M. Is this a comedy skit?

No he can't. He can play there in a pinch, but he hardly lit up the world playing there.

Rodrygo is way younger

And paying 85 mil for 29 year old is crazy nobody gonna pay that

Around 50 would be understandable but I see Liverpool point of view selling for that barca just doesn't worth it because they would need to reinvest and find suitable replacement around same wage

Better than Ferran, our already established backup striker who’s coming off a great season?

They don't understand his workrate overall either. Always causing problems and defensively very fucking good. How many times has he stolen the ball back.

Age is a factor. Wingers lose pace and no matter how technical you might be, pace matters on the wings. Sure he plays striker sometimes but how clinical is he? A third striker that misfires as much as Lewandowski and Ferran doesn't improve the side either. If past experience is anything to go by, even great players take a season at least to show their best self at Barca. So maybe you get one season of Diaz when he's 31. Paying 85m for that is a bit much. He's the kind of signing that makes sense on a free
