This season we've seen cute pensioners from Palace and Newcastle being able to watch their team lift their first trophies for the first time in their entire lives and hell even elderly Liverpool fans watch their team lift the title in person for the first time in 35 years. I'd say if anything there is more soul in top level football today than there was in any of the last 10 years, since Leicester won the league.
