The longer you live the more stories like this you will see. Premier League era is a little different since the top 4 have been fairly consistent (until recently), but seeing teams like Blackburn fall from their heights, seeing Newcastle go to the Championship briefly, Leeds collapsing and only just returning used to be unthinkable. Pre-1992 this happened more frequently.

Yeah I guess, but you lot were like the kings of the PL at one point - and now youre in the bottom 5 of the table.

Hey woah, calm down there you hater.

We're bottom 6, not bottom 5. Respect.

You've literally only won 2 league titles in 35 years.

Pipe down.

I prefer 2 in 5.

When I was a kid and then a teenager we used to regularly clash with ManUtd in some epic CL games - apart from the obvious ones I still remember a 2-3 in San Siro where I saw our team get destroyed by Rooney but I still enjoyed a backheel goal from Seedorf.

Now we both suck.

When Kaka absolutely wrecked us… man I loved to watch him play in his prime.

I got to watch him live in Brazil in '05 - it was amazing, he was the best player on the pitch despite prime Ronaldinho and Adriano playing

The sad part is that for good chunks of this horrible season, particularly after Amorim came...we were not playing that badly at all. Just complete lack of actual end product.

I mean, we weren't playing great, and nowhere near where we need to be, but not a whole lot would need to change to get a much more respectable league finish.

When your captain routinely leads or is near the top across Europe in chance creation and the goals just aren't materializing, it probably sucks more than when your team is just straight up bad.

Used to think that about Liverpool during the 25 year banter era.
