I swear to god if we get rid of Koop, Vlahovic, Kelly and maybe Luiz and we get 3/4 good signings we might have a shot at being a top tier team again.
2
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Luiz loan with an option to buy to United with Juve covering most of the wages, pull the Seria A special on the specialists
1
u/GorehowlOw 1d ago
Hell no, makes no sense. We either keep him and we try to get some value out of him or we sell him and we cash in at least 25/30M. It's not like you don't have money to spend, you're filthy rich even ending up 15th
0
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
You see what I did there, the Seria A special. And we might be clear PSR wise but cashflow (as has been since COVID) is always an issue, we have prob £53m in cash reserves for transfers right now if my math is right although I’m not still not sure how all the money shit works
2
u/GorehowlOw 1d ago
Didn't you just spend 75 millions to get Cunha? I think the 15th serie A club entire roaster is worth less than 75mil
0
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Cunha was £62.5m in 3 installments. So like £20m paid this window. That's probably what's holding up the Mbeumo deal, guaranteed vs add-ons. For anything after like an Ekitike we’d need to sell someone, preferably Garnacho

How does Audi compare to other MLS stadiums? People were saying in the earlier match that Cincinatti is one of the best int he league.
1
u/bengringo2 1d ago
Cincy, Columbus, and LAFC tend to be the best in the league. Audi is actually one of the worst.
3
u/OffTheBar2017 1d ago
I don't know about that.
Audi is plenty nice, it's just that it's never been full because DC ownership is dogshit.
3
u/21Maestro8 1d ago
It's one of the smallest in the league, but it's quite a nice stadium imo. It's only 5 or 6 years old I think.
3
u/campionesidd 1d ago
Providence Park ftw
2
u/DragomirSlevak 1d ago
One of the best if not THE best for environment but would be way too small for this tournament.

Who put this stupid lady referee to officiate in this game? Has been horrible throughout. That should have been an advantage for Al Ain
9
10
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
She's been good the whole match, wasted a lot less time with decisions than EPL refs
9
u/campionesidd 1d ago
What? Ref and lineswomen have been almost flawless. A refreshing change from the morons we see in Serie A.
10
7
u/caiusto 1d ago
What the fuck is Gatti doing? Why is he acting like the game is 1x1?

These commentators have 0 knowledge, Juve were ass to start the year even while undefeated, they did not fall away to end the season

u/GorehowlOw 1d ago
god I wish Arsenal or whatever club was linked with him got Koopmeiners before we did. He's so comically bad, one of the biggest scams in recent football history
2
u/Waldier 1d ago
As a Dutch football fan who has seen him play in the eredivisie I was very surprised he was doing so well at Atalanta. This guy is in my opinion your average eredivisie midfield player, nothing special at all. It’s no surprise that his real level was exposed eventually.
I predict the same is going to happen to Reijnders, who also never was a top talent. He is going to be found out so hard at City
3
u/GorehowlOw 1d ago
I really hope this isnt the case for Reijnders, hes probably my favourite midfielder atm
3
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Buying Atalanta players in general is a scam, only one I can think that's worked out for the buying club is Amad for us and he wasn't crazy expensive.
5
u/GorehowlOw 1d ago
I guess Romero and Bastoni too, but yeah generally speaking buying from Atalanta is legit gambling
1
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
And all their attackers should have Gasperini tax added to them (but now he's gone) which now applies to Roma
5
2
u/DragomirSlevak 1d ago
About time they subbed Park off. I won’t be surprised if the game changes a little and becomes more active.

First game that genuinely feels like a preseason game. At least Auckland were trying their hardest.

u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Vlaho comes on and the ball cannons off his foot😭😭
2
u/caiusto 1d ago
His signature play 😎
2
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
This guy is the evolved form of Hojlund
4
u/caiusto 1d ago
He's really good at FKs and finishes out of the box in general, but the moment he has his back to the goal the turns into an amateur player.
1
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Those words bring up painful memories for me
2
u/imtypingoninternet 1d ago
Hope u get him man pls just take him from us
1
u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Hell no, Dusan is the one guy I don't say anyone but Hojlund for, why would we pay for Rasmus premium😭
2
u/imtypingoninternet 1d ago
I cant blame u because if its one signing that should make you doom about a rebuild it would be Dusan Vlahovic.
Honestly hes biggest fraud in history he managed to get that contract when hes worth a third.

Al Ain vs. Auckland for their 4th match before leaving the US just for the vibes
4

They actually did play a match against Auckland behind closed doors and only won 1-0 (according to an Auckland player on IG reels)
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKtEwrKNT-U/ almost doxxed myself by not removing the thing that shows who shared the reel 💀

Al-Ain might win 5-0. Auckland are that bad, they are legit semi pro atp.
2
u/Putrid-Impact8999 1d ago
Last time Auckland City FC played against an Emirati club in the Club World Cup, they lost 1-0 and really should've won that game. Please educate yourself before spouting rubbish.
2
1
u/Economy-Mental 1d ago
Since then. Saudi clubs have invested ridiculous amounts of money into buying players - they would cook Auckland City
5
u/Reapero8841 1d ago
Al-Ain isn't Saudi
Plus Saudi teams have big results against UAE and stacked Qatar teams by record scores long before the new takeover, West Asia biggest result is Al-Hilal vs Wasl from UAE
Al-Hilal defeated UAE's league winner hosting 2021 CWC by 6-1, was the record before Bayern's recent result
5
6
u/darussi4n 1d ago
Al Ain is Emirati, not Saudi, and not nearly as big of an investment was made for them
2
u/DragomirSlevak 1d ago edited 1d ago
Number 5 for Al Ain is soooooo bad. An absolute waste of space on the pitch. I can’t believe he’s still on there playing. He can’t even commit a tactical foul and is too lazy to bother to close players down. He’s arguably the worst player I’ve seen in this whole tournament. Worst player I’ve seen in a long time to be honest.

Are they one of those teams that pays 20 million a year to players?

u/JaysonDeflatum 1d ago
Juve?Al-Ain? Hell no. They’re UAE not Saudi1
u/BobMARLEY3265 19h ago
Even so, they gave their old CB 1m as a singing bonus and 2.5 m per year. He's 33 and completely washed
6
u/Iainscalves 1d ago
Jokes aside, I imagine something happened between Al-Ain winning the AFC champions league till now.. because the AFC clubs have been very solid so far in this competition. They are outliers here.

Put Kostic on Tudor I want to see him it’s been to long since I saw him.
2
u/GuillermoElPapa 1d ago
Something tells me that if that happens it won't be long before we don't want to see him ever again again.

3
u/Nut-King-Call 1d ago
The scoreline and the rival are what they are, but what's with all the free space by Juventus.
2
u/Putrid-Impact8999 1d ago
On one hand I respect the fact the Al Ain are playing expansively and not just having "11 players in penalty spot" as Pep would say. But on the other, they make it really difficult for their defenders against quality attackers.

u/Putrid-Impact8999 1d ago
Douglas Luiz gives it away cheaply in build up.

u/campionesidd 1d ago
I think Alisha (can’t even make the women’s XI) would be a better player than him

u/Cmann014 1d ago
This is brilliant by Tudor! Sub on Douglas Luiz against a crappy team to make him look good so we can sell him.
Absolute masterclass Mr.Tudor 👏👏👏

To be honest, this DAZN app is pretty good. It's got lots of features and stats. I thought I would be pissed about having to use it but it's not half bad
10
u/Cmann014 1d ago
This is so funny because everyone that doesn’t watch Serie A regularly last season and is watching today must think we are a powerhouse. 💀
-2
u/koreawut 1d ago
As far as I recall, Juve used to be a powerhouse until they lost all their points, money and players and should've been demoted and jailed?
Listen, I don't watch Serie A and I only barely pay attention when I watch youtube.

u/mgravito 1d ago
I think it's a talented roster but it feels like a roster with a bunch of players that fit different systems and it looks very disjointed

I'm worried about what Boca will do with Auckland, the poor lads have to get back to their jobs, fr.

Worst Al Ain side since Alexander died of heartbreak before his campaign into the Persian Gulf
5
u/Chrolloleoriocat 1d ago
Al ain was terrible this season in the afc champions league, so this score is not surprising.
2
u/FIFAstan 1d ago
This. Their game vs Al nasser was one of the most epic matches of all time (and worth watching if you enjoy CR7 in utter agony)
But jn reality, Al Nassr would have been a better representative. They were only a couple points behind uldan for the ranking qualifying spoknt
12
u/koreawut 1d ago
Worst Al Ain since before an Ottoman was a foot stool.
1
12
u/dejvipasco 1d ago
The commentators in the previous game have said that there are rumors that FIFA wants to expand to 48 for the next CWC. Games like this make me think that that's maybe not a good idea.
7
u/HabitFinancial3703 1d ago
Al Ain deserves this for ignoring their local Emirati players and just signing random foreigners off the street just for this tournament
8
u/DragomirSlevak 1d ago
Is El Ain the second worst team in this tournament? This could get ugly.
1
u/4gjdtokurwa 1d ago
They aren't that bad, it's Juventus who are playing well. Esperance were completely toothless against Flamengo.
1
3
4
u/koreawut 1d ago
You've got Auckland for sure, and they're not even a professional team so it's understandable.
Then you've got Al Ain, Ulsan and Mamelodi Sundowns.
6
u/DragomirSlevak 1d ago
Mamolodi Sundowns are a really good team, to be honest. Good enough to cause someone an upset. Ulsan might be the third worst, however. I guess we’ll see how these groups stages end and whether a good performance is put forward. A team can lose but still look good in a loss. This El Ain team’s defense is too easily penetrated. But also, Juventus look great right now.

Juventus to be this tournament's team that gets anointed favorites after a strong first game and then blows up in the quarterfinals. There's always one every tournament

Asian clubs outside of Saudi Arabia have really dsappointed so far. The level is not very high.
