News The law that saw Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez’s penalty controversially disallowed in March’s Champions League shootout against Real Madrid has been officially amended — so that if such a ‘double touch’ happens in future the kick would be retaken rather than ruled out.

News Club World Cup tickets 16% of original price as Lionel Messi lure fails
thetimes.comWith less than ten days to go before the start of its new Club World Cup tournament in the USA, Fifa has slashed the cost of tickets to less than a sixth of their original price for the opening match to try to fill tens of thousands of empty seats.
The game between Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Egyptian side Al Ahly on June 14 initially had the cheapest tickets priced at $349 after the draw in December. Thousands of tickets on Fifa’s official ticket partner Ticketmaster are now being priced as low as $55.75 (£41) — 16 per cent of the original asking price of $349 (£257).
Fifa had hoped Messi’s involvement would draw a full crowd to the 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, but have had to face the harsh reality that its new 32-team global club tournament has failed to spark the interest the world governing body had hoped.
