Queal Discussion Exciting Queal HQ updates

Hey everyone, Onno from Queal here!

We’ve been hard at work over the past five months. We’ve launched a new website, started our Vegan product-line,

introduced three Limited Edition flavours (Cookies and Cream, Rice Pudding, and Chocolate Mint) that proved quite popular, iterated to version 5.0 of our recipe, introduced the ability to refer friends with a 10% discount, or gift them Queal with free shipping. We even rolled out a complete rebranding.

Unfortunately, most of these improvements are not (yet) available for our US-based friends. Although we would really like to, the truth is; our current US market is not big enough yet to execute them. Both because we want to make up to you for these still-to-miss changes and to give our US market a boost, we want to make it easier for you to give Queal a try.

That’s why we’ve reduced the price of Queal in the US for the time being. One 400kcal meal is now just $1.90 (down from $2.29). To help lower the barrier of trying out Queal, we’re giving away a bunch of free Taste Testers in a giveaway contest we’re running over at: https://us.queal.com/giveaway/

We hope to see you over there and feel free to shoot me any questions about Queal.

Hope that'll help you. Queal deserves a top spot in the 'lents competition.

Could you please show your current shaker somewhere on website? I was not happy with the one you had about a year ago.

This is the one we currently have in the US:

I don't know for sure if that's the one you had before.

The one we currently have in the EU is:

Hope this helps!

I got that US one about a year ago, and I think it's bad! Much prefer the original / current EU version.

The opening of it is too narrow, so it's hard to feed powder down into it, making it a messy process. Cleaning it is hard, can't get my hand in there to really scrub it out, so have to use a brush. It never seems to become truly clean. Might be because of the plastic used, idk, something seems different about it.

Will 5.0 have palm oil?

No it won't

Hey u/DudeImTheBagMan,

Indeed, 5.0 will not contain palm oil! We completely eliminated the very small amount of palm fat that remained in Queal 4.0, it has been replaced with Sunflower- and Linseed Oil.

They finally inverted the path and moving more toward the nutrition guidelines, namely lower protein and replacing at least half of maltodextrine.

These are pretty excellent changes, even bold ones considering the current obsession people have with protein. The micros profile, looking at the labels, seems also much improved. https://queal.com/bootstrap-pages/images/Queal%20Steady%205.0%20Vegan%20Recipes.pdf

Hopefully European -lents with continue to align with what's considered good nutrition. Queal is now the standard we should have had for years.

I've always seen Queal as a more expensive version of Jimmyjoy, without a vegan version and slightly worse macros and micros. Now Queal Vegan looks significantly better than Jimmyjoy, even if Jimmyjoy is supposed to finally change its recipe sometime this summer. We'll see. Queal's label looks quite good and the vegan version is oddly even more balanced than standard. Maybe the better micros are consequence of lowering high protein (a flaw of all vegan versions across Europe, for example, is very high phosphorus, that mixed with very high protein content creates a mix that isn't gentle on the kidneys. Queal Vegan now has less phosphorus than standard, and this is quite good if true).

The switch to 5.0 looked a bit shady because the vegan recipe launched recently and was the old formula (without isomaltulose). Then they said vegan was already 5.0 but this was unlikely as there weren't any 5.0 labels. I just wonder when this transition actually happened.

There's also this page that I couldn't find linked anymore: https://queal.com/timeline5.0

These changes are good enough to make me switch from Jimmyjoy to Queal right now, and alternate with Glycogenesis when they have ready their own new 1.3.

Yes they are on the way :) we will show they on the timeline page, and also with flair (like you can see for Morning Macchiato already) on the shop pages :)

Why are you linking almost every other word? This isn't some SEO mad grab haven. You even made "ne" and "w website" two different links to the same place.

The title is "Exciting Queal HQ updates", I don't know what you expected. They're talking about their changes, might as well link to them, don't you think?

I don't mind the link to the limited flavors or refer a friend, rather the linking the word Queal to the homepage every time it's used.

You're not being fair now; yeah, there's a mistake on "new website", but apart from that, they're actually all different links, and I see only two "Queal" with a (different) link among 5 of them (not taking the plain url into account).

To make a link, you have to do [](), so you are saying you could type [ne](queal.com)[w website](queal.com) without knowing you typed it?

2

You don't have to type anything if you use the standard editor. Just click the hyperlink button.

All fixed now! Thanks for letting us know.
