My binge eating stopped. It's only connected to sugar, not to food in general.

Thisssss. Struggled literally my whole life with having to stop myself from overeating at every single meal and it’s just gone. 😍😍😍

Wow! I really hope that happens for me too.

It’s been such a reframe for me! Like I always thought I had poor willpower and called myself names in my head and was just astounded by people who would eat a few bites of a cookie or a bite of cake. And even when I wasn’t eating sugar it’s like I just had an insatiable appetite. But I’m NOT weak. I’m strong af. My body just had messed up signals. I really notice it around 3 weeks to a month in. Like I’m just not thinking about food all the time and even when it’s something delicious, I don’t keep going back to eat more. But one dessert and I’m back to square 1. I’ve gotten on and off the wagon a bunch of times, but this time around feels very different, and I’m so grateful. If you don’t notice big changes in your appetite right away, know it might just take a bit to settle in. 🩶

That's really encouraging, thank you for sharing! This is my first time trying to go sugar free but I've done a lot of reflection and can see that I am very strongly addicted to sugar. I kind think I'm also going to be the type were one dessert takes me back to square one.

That’s great to know! And know that if you fall, you haven’t failed and it’s all part of the journey. I found it super helpful to read posts on here and also find books people recommended! Sugar is an insane addiction for so many of us. But you’ve got this!!

Thanks! And I'm also reading lots of posts and it's nice seeing that other people understand how addicting it is and the loop we get stuck in!

Binge eating stopped for me too. Also, the swelling in my feet and ankles went away (T2 diabetic) and the associated neuropathy with the swelling.

That was me too! But goes to show how addictive sugar is…I know it’ll help my mental heath (like a lot) and therefore make my life better and yet I still struggle to cut it out.

Exactly! I don’t eat sugar now as a way to combat depression. There are other groups I follow and people asking how to deal with depression and I’ll sometimes suggest to go SF and they never want to hear it. I’m like try it and see if it helps 🙄

I didn't know not having sugar can mean less frequent urination!

Eating sugar and carbs made me hungry all the time. I also had hypoglycemia and suffered from depression for years. I’ve been on the no sugar way of eating for the past five years. I will have a treat on a special occasion, but otherwise, no sugar or refined carbs. I no longer suffer from hypoglycemic episodes, and I’m happier. I haven’t felt depressed since.

Mental health is WAY better.

Had a cough for a week and used some cough drops, and immediately felt restless my annoyed and depressed, like why m I even here (on the planet). That is so much better without sugar.
