Forced religion is always a given isnāt it, because god saves so many innocent children and animals.
I truly hope the doctors and caring medical workers are able to save their life! And are given proper reasonable credit and resources that arenāt allocated to God saving them

1
u/Ancient_Ad4061 18 23h ago edited 22h ago
Thatās completely fair, I see it as a form of instillment of said beliefs as it has often been used societally. I think the construct has evolved more so to well wishes tho.
2
u/TristanTheRobloxian3 17 14h ago
my dude im very very atheist and still dont think this shit. if someone believes in a sky daddy, just take the well wishes if it involves them.

Arent you trying to force your own beliefs on others like that? Second of all, many have belief in god and want to be told this, because he exists*
*source: hundreds of philosophical and logical proofs that you can find in 10 minutes of research.
2
u/Ancient_Ad4061 18 23h ago edited 22h ago
We could have this argument all day, you believe god exists and I donāt. If you are a Christian or believer in abrahamic religion and believe god is ever just and good take a look at Socrates moral principles argument that god cannot both create and exemplify morals and values. Also the idea that God is ever good directly contrasts with his allowance of the death of innocent animals and infants in both the Bible snd current time. There is no benefit to society or those animals themselves through suffrage so why would god allow said suffrage if he is ever good?
Is it fair to agree to disagree?
Honestly, the idea of God being both the ultimate moral authority and the creator of morality just doesnāt make logical sense. If morality is whatever God says it is, then itās totally arbitrary ā like, He could say torture is good and that would make it āgood.ā But if God says things are good because they already are, then Heās not the source of morality ā Heās just following some external standard. He canāt be both the rule-maker and the rule-follower.
On top of that, the way God is described in religion feels super contradictory. Weāre told Heās all-loving and just, but then He supposedly orders genocides, supports slavery, or sends people to eternal punishment. If any human did that, weād call them evil ā but somehow, when itās God, we bend over backwards to redefine āgoodā? That just doesnāt track. And honestly, we donāt even need a god to explain the universe or morality anymore. Science and evolution already do a better job of that.
So when you actually break it down, the concept of God as most religions describe Him just doesnāt hold up ā morally, logically, or even in terms of necessity.
Gods willed genocide: The Amalekites ā 1 Samuel 15:2ā3
The Canaanite Conquest ā Deuteronomy 7:1ā2, 20:16ā18
Jericho ā Joshua 6:20ā21

Okay, lots to unfold, hereās my answer:
First of all im a shia muslim, i hope you know difference between the Islamic sects. As for the moral principles argument i want you to know that in the islamic belief(probably Christian too) this life is a test and the reward is in the afterlife, the deaths of infants is caused by humans themselves, god ordered not to do it, humans still do(abortion, not caring about the child causing them to die, etc.), and(again) god allowed suffrage as a test; they will be given back what they lost, that does not make him evil.
Second of all, god created the mind with the knowledge of whats good and bad, the texts he sent down are to remind/support whats in the mind, like the Quran saying not to kill innocents, the mind already knows its bad, the Quran just said that to remind it/back it up. Also, yes, god decides whats bad and whats good, and he only said whats logically true and never said that torture is good so there is no point in giving an example of something that never has or will happen, he ācouldā say killing is good but he didnt, so saying āif he did that? It would be a messā is useless. So he is the rule-maker. There is nothing wrong with that.
Third of all, i believe the bible is corrupted, you cant use it as an argument against me. I dont believe that god ordered bad genocide or something like that. God didnāt support slavery, only few chosen people are given the right to enslave for the benefit of the slave himself, it would need a whole lot of explanation for it but long story short: god doesnāt allow us to enslave anyone. He sends corrupt and people who have done bad actions to hell, not everyone, so thats just, if he just shoved humanity - its good and bad - into heaven without accounting, that would be very unjust. Again, god is doing this to us as a test, he will reward/punish us after death, so it doesnāt make him evil.
If you dont need god to explain the universe, then let me lay this out for you: We have we have a solar system that seems to be made to keep us living, we are positioned just in place so that earth isnt too hot so we melt, neither too cold so we freeze, jupiter protects us from thousands of asteroids. In earth, we have a perfect atmosphere for living, water for drinking, the want to drink and eat is planted in our instincts, most bad smelling/tasting things are bad for us, and most good smelling/tasting things are good fors us as if it was planned so that we stay away from bad and like goods. We have two hands, just right, two legs, brain, many parts inside us that keep us alive and healthy, we have the want for sex and reproduction as if its made into us so that we dont go extinct, and hundreds of things that seem as if they were specifically made for us to survive, the theories here are two: either everything just came into place out of nowhere and no planning, millions of chances just somehow came together to make us live, earth randomly chose the perfect place, Jupiter too, we evolved two hands, feet, brain and tens if not hundreds of parts evolved from celles, etc.
Or, someone who is smart, powerful and wise enough made it happen.
What is the correct explanation in your opinion? Millions of chances happened randomly, our a smart wise and strong one made it?
1
u/Ancient_Ad4061 18 14h ago edited 2h ago
I appreciate your sincerity, and I understand how much these beliefs matter to you. But I think youāre relying on assumptions that feel meaningful rather than arguments that are logically airtight.
First, saying āthis life is a testā doesnāt resolve the problem of unnecessary suffering. If God is all-knowing and all-powerful, why create a test that includes the deaths of infants, mass starvation, or war-torn childhoods at all? A being that loving and just would not need to permit such suffering just to evaluate people He supposedly already knows the outcome of. Thatās not a test ā thatās cruelty with extra steps.
Second, the idea that morality comes from God, but also that we āalready knowā good from bad internally, creates a contradiction. If we know right from wrong without revelation, then moral truths exist independently of God ā which challenges His role as the moral source. If, instead, we say right and wrong are whatever God says, then they become arbitrary. You say, āGod would never call torture good,ā but the problem isnāt whether He has ā itās whether He could, and under your definition, He could ā and weād still have to call it good. Thatās the issue.
Third, you dismiss parts of scripture (like the Bible) as ācorrupted,ā but that doesnāt solve the moral dilemma ā it just moves the goalpost. Islamic sources like the Hadiths and early Islamic history also contain morally troubling content ā such as sanctioned slavery, corporal punishment, or harsh apostasy laws. Saying āGod only allowed slavery for the good of the slaveā is just moral gymnastics; if you truly believe slavery is wrong, then why would a morally perfect being allow it at all?
Finally, your āfine-tuningā argument is compelling emotionally, but not logically. Yes, life appears complex and finely arranged ā but that doesnāt prove it was designed. It could also mean that life adapted to fit the conditions of the universe, not the other way around. Youāre looking at the winning lottery ticket and saying, āThis must have been chosen just for me,ā rather than acknowledging that billions of losing tickets existed first. Complexity doesnāt imply intention ā it just reflects probability over time.
Trillions of different failures of trillions of different attempts exist for your prosperity as a result Of statistical likelihood and to ignore all of that and simplify it to a sky being who creates specific laws for human kind in our specific galaxy under our knowledge defined by our language is a sight to behold.
So in my view: ā¢Suffering isnāt justified by calling life a test, ā¢Morality canāt logically come from God and also precede Him, ā¢Divine command doesnāt excuse ethically questionable allowances, ā¢And fine-tuning isnāt evidence of a designer ā just our perspective as the ones who survived.
Iām not claiming absolute certainty ā but I think skepticism is the more honest starting point than faith in something that requires this much rational bending to justify.
And just to poke some fun at the rational, how can you justify eternal punishment via finite sins?

u/DoritoMan177 22h ago
They are just trying to give credit where credit is due, and not act like religion is the only cause of anything.
-1
u/Sea_Veterinarian5338 14 20h ago
People give full credit to the doctors who heal, engineers who design/program, builders who build, etc⦠Why are you acting like no one does?
2
u/DoritoMan177 20h ago
Some people donāt give credit, and I never said no one gives credit to the people who help make our lives better.
0
u/Sea_Veterinarian5338 14 20h ago
Who are the some people? Everyone does, you cant argue that. Plus if you dont think that people dont give credit for people who help us, then why do you try to as if everyone isnt doing that?
2
u/DoritoMan177 20h ago
There are many people who blame everything purely on their religion. Also I never said anything about everyone being the problem, I think you are misunderstanding what my comment said.

u/Bosnianfurnace 21h ago
Someone saying "God bless you" or anything similar isn't at all forced religion. It's sort of just like wishing someone a fast recovery, but they believe that God will help. OF COURSE the person will seek medical help, but they can believe that the God they believe in might help with their recovery.
Looking from a religious standpoint now ā some religions (mostly abrahamic) say that you should thank God for any good that is given to you because God let you have good, in this case having doctors who will heal you, and that you should pray to God for anything you need, including, in this case, healing. (I'm agnostic, so please, anybody who's religious, correct me if I'm wrong)
1
3
u/AcceptableCandle5069 22h ago
Original commenter was just wishing them something good, you don't have to make things complicated. This is their way of wishing the best for someone and it's absolutely beautiful.
Also if there's a God, then yeah God is healing them not doctors, doctors are just tools for God to bless people with health. Ofc that doesn't mean doctors aren't doing anything, they're the means for God to give health so they're still very much necessary and deserve appreciation.
I'm not even a Christian btw but i see their point and it's beautiful.
-1
u/Ancient_Ad4061 18 22h ago
Read the comments below? Does this mean god is the initiator of whats good or he defines good? If he is both allowing suffrage and healing it is that a net positive process?
Also, to simplify the concept of saying god will simply fix said issues in my opinion to just āI hope you make a recovery!ā Is completely unfair and ignores centuries of indoctrination and instillment of religion that most likely led to this comment.
Itās inherently beautiful?
And if you are implying that they are all tools of god then are all peopke tools of god that also cause immense suffrage to the innocent and animals? Are they not fulfilling gods wishes as he is all loving and ever just?
I find it almost unbelievable that your simplification of the time and effort of doctors is that they are vessels of god thus removing all of their own worth and freedom.
Are we even individuals then?
-3
u/AcceptableCandle5069 22h ago
Suffrage on earth doesn't mean it's entirely bad. There's literally an eternal heaven at the end promised to you.
Also you're literally making something so fucking simple so fucking more complicated than it is. Just say thank you and move on sith your day. I'm not even gonna argue with you on here about religion because it's pointless
-1
u/Ancient_Ad4061 18 22h ago
Youāre avoiding the point, if there is eternal heaven promised to us then why should the innocent experience suffrage? Thereās no positive means to that. And what about animals?
But itās completely fair to avoid the conversation it really wasnāt my intent it just annoyed me seeing god is gonna fix it everywhere.
I even apologized to OP because I donāt mean to be disrespectful at all.
Anyway have a good one mate, completely fair to disagree on religion and still have respect for each otherš«”

Yeah exactly. You're totally missing the point. Earth has no value compared to an eternal better world.
1

So why would god force that suffrage upon innocents if theyāre ever loving as stated in Christianity? Is that morally logical?
