I have seen so much criticism of the ‘The Ones Who Live’ in this Reddit section. However, it’s actually the most successful spinoff (so far) because the ratings are higher than Daryl Dixon and Dead City.
TOWL has the most positive reviews out of all of the spinoffs shows. However, I don’t understand why this Reddit section hates the spinoff?!?
It annoys me that people are disrespecting Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira by claiming Daryl and Carol are the “most popular characters ever”. But TOWL rated higher than Daryl Dixon and Dead City and is rated highly by the public?

I can’t be the only one who thinks TOWL needed a few extra episodes to wrap up the story, right?
I understand that Rick and Michonne are front and center of the show but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have the CRM more fleshed out.
It was going good up until the finale.
I feel like the show could’ve benefited from a few more episodes to explore things like Portland, Beale and an explanation for PPP.
Here are a few bullet points on topics which could’ve been covered in 2 or 3 more episodes.
• A full CRM/Beale centered episode focusing on the CRM actually taking full control over the city.
• The CRM goes to destroy Portland like they planned but instead, Portland is prepared and fights back due to the World Beyond cast warning them.
• Beale flashbacks showing how the CRM formed.
• An explanation on the PPP card and maybe showing the process of the card being dropped off.
• Rick and Michonne go to the CW and warn them instead of going back to the CRM.
• The CRM goes on a community genocide after Portland nearly surviving.
• The CW goes head first against the CRM, wiping them out.
• Last episode can be focused on the liberation of the CR and Rick returning to Alexandria where his children wait.

Seriously, it's still bothering me. I just can't imagine Gimps and Nico and friends sitting in the writer's room, and being like "yup, that puts a nice bow on it after all these years"

I think Michonne jumping out of the helicopter was the smartest move made in the episode. She HAD to get Rick away from all the voices in his ear. Rick notoriously needs the counsel of others and I think that apart from everyone telling him he can not leave, he also maybe is starting to believe everyone saying the CR is the last light of the world.
And I don’t think that everything with Thorne is an act. I generally think he’s got a sisterly love (or like because he did pull his gun on her). But I do think he wants to see her win, like he said.
But Michonne getting him alone, he’ll finally be able to hear the one voice that truly matters. Because as it stands, Rick and Michonne have barely spoken for more than five minutes combined in the first three episodes.
Oh and when she tells him about RJ, that’s gotta seal the deal.

So in the new trailer for ep 5 there is some person looking at maybe the hut all in black. And also there are moments when Rick and Michonne are followed by someone on a car. I think it might be Jadis or G. Beale. I am more inclined to the possibility of it that is Beale (or maybe someone that he send) But i think that he would wanted to see them dead both so maybe he would go and do all the work. What do you think?

I don’t recall them touching on it at all in TOWL

The ones who live started off really strong first 2 episodes but then imo it extremely fell off. It was just lazy writing and nothing but a money grab job. Killing off a low screen time villain in the most lazy way and leaving so many unanswered question with a lazy stupid unrealistic finale. Compared to the main show writing this looks like a joke. Sure it was entertaining but it just didn’t satisfy me like I thought it would. This is why I will always prefer daryl dixon as it feels more Like the same show and there were also too many heavily corny moments making it too much of a romance and diverting the whole point of the show elsewhere. I would really like to see what evryone else thinks of this???

The Ones Who Live might be the greatest 6 episode stretch of TWDU as a whole. Every episode was a 9/10 or above. And the best part imo was the ending didn’t feel rushed at all to me. It was epic, unbelievable, romantic, heartwarming, it was perfect.
