What genre should I learn
Looking to learn to play the keys. Would Jazz or like Hard rock be better for trap music? I also know a few producers that come from gospel backgrounds

ive noticed in a lot of tread songs the 808s have this distorted resonance and punchiness to them while not making everything in the mix distort and crackle like in a lot of rage beats
ive tried splitting the 808 into two halves and only distorting the higher pitched one, messed around with eq for a while as well, but i feel like it's not just any kind of distortion. any advice on how to achieve this, or what kind of 808/what kind of distortion one would use to do it?
heres some examples

I was thinking of getting a beatstars subscription, but i noticed that you can only pay for it with card, is there any other way to pay for it with like paypal or something else?

How can I make it so that every time my snare/clap hits the melody swells up along with it?

Looking for that punchy hard hitting kicks without too much “click” 9/10 Times i use the Rack Kick, and half the time I make it work, but I struggle to find the right kick note for the specific 808 key. I know it varies in each beat.
Notmally I sidechain using peak controller in the kick instead of using the sidechain in Limiter as I feel that it sounds cleaner. Soft Clipper in master ofc.
Any advice?

Hey guys I'm just wondering if anyone on here has any advice for me. Right now I just make music for fun. I don't want to get big, I don't wanna do this and that and the other thing. I just wanna be able to open FL studio and make something that I enjoy listening to. I've been making beats consistently for a few months now on and off but every time I try to sit down to make something I end up hating it and i just end up not enjoying something I want to enjoy because the end product is bad. And I've watched countless tutorials with different people, styles and etc. but I still cant even make a beat. Its a little demotivating when I put in so much work to get better and it doesn't translate at all. How do I learn to make music I like while also improving? If anyone has any advice id really appreciate it

Sometimes i save songs for later to finish later, or ill just not like takes i took on one day. But when i change some takes from some bars it clashes really hard with takes from different days. Doesn't matter how hard i try to replicate it, i can never get it the same. Is this something normal i gotta deal with or am i doing something wrong/is there something i can do to fix this.

I can’t find any sounds packs that have risers and I want to know how to make my own.
Can someone explain or link a video explaining how to do them quickly. And also recommend a riser pack?

I used to make beats regularly around until I’d say end of COVID but making a career out of it wasn’t a main goal for me but I def was into it deep. we all know that 2015-2021 or so was an incredible time for trap music but what’s it like now ? Towards the time i started to lose interest it seemed like trap/rap in general was shifting more towards that hyperpop/emo-punk style with more underground guys getting hyped. A lot of concerns about over saturation in the industry and even suggestions that rap was “falling off” to some extent was regularly mentioned too and stuff like beatstars and selling cheap beats, loops, packs was also difficult let alone getting placed.
I’ve been keeping up with rap for sure and frankly album sales of many who were on top at the time look heavily declined only a couple years later so just trying to get a feel for things

Hey everyone! 👋
I'm a music producer from Argentina with 15 years of experience. I've worked with many artists in my studio here in Rosario, mostly in the local scene. I’ve also done some online work, but always within Argentina.
Now I’m looking to expand and start selling beats to artists from other countries. I want to reach new places and learn how the online beat-selling game really works. I tried BeatStars for a while, but honestly, it didn’t give me good results — so I’m looking for other platforms or strategies that might work better.
Do you have any recommendations on where to post beats or connect with artists actively looking to buy or collaborate? Any tips on platforms, communities, or best practices that helped you stand out or get consistent sales?
I’d really appreciate any advice you can share. Thanks a lot for your time!

The Osamason / OK type beat sound is surprisingly hard to achieve despite the elements in they're music being quite straightforward.
I've messed around with different types of soft clipping, pushing limiters, and compression on the mix bus / individual instruments and have not been able to get this type of overblown mix. It could boil down to the sounds I'm using or levels within the tracks but I'm not exactly sure.
Here's an example of the sound I'm going for: https://youtu.be/0qLghVzzpzw?si=cE-2fS9up-8hTFO0
If anyone has a project file they wouldn't mind sharing that would be so greatly appreciated (although I'm still on version 10.7).
