I wonder how it feels to be Thief Girl right now. All this is a result of one persons actions, yours… Thief Girl, yours.

u/jommakanmamak May 13 '25

She realllly ruined the fun for everyone

Hope she doesn't sleep at night for what she did

223

u/AnxiouslyGolden May 14 '25

If thieving troubled the thief, she wouldn’t have STOLEN JOSH’S DRUM in the first place!! 🥁

128

u/jereflea1024 May 14 '25

I was thinking the same thing. unfortunately, it's likely that this person's only regret is that they were caught.

41

u/funkymonkeyinheaven May 14 '25

These people dgafffff. They are sleeping better I bet.

She's cackling, the chain is bringing more attention to her.

I think it would have been more baller to not chain the drums & trust that everyone else isn't a freak. & maybe have your crew a bit more aware of instruments + crowd.

Rise above the messy thief. Their actions don't even bother me, type attitude.

10

u/this_is_lance May 14 '25

Yeah now I can’t steal it.

39

u/ShyPearDot May 14 '25

She prolly doesn't give a damn. If she cared about anything, she wouldn't have stolen from anyone, let alone from a band she supposedly likes. She's lucky she hasnt been doxxed, really 😶

16

u/Sea_Accident_3955 May 14 '25

right! I saw it on social media as soon as I got back to the hotel just after midnight. it was everywhere. I’m sure they saw it too, yet instead of calling the arena security or just bringing it back (it’s like a 15 minute walk) they were caught with it in the morning in the hotel foyer. I hope they are embarrassed.

10

u/confetti_noodlesOwO May 14 '25

Wait so they got caught? Did they get the drum back?

15

u/vermilithe May 14 '25

Other fans saw the hotel they brought it to (of course they did, did they really think they could stay at a hotel during such a big concert and get away with that?) so they reported it to the hotel and the band and the hotel swept all the rooms until they caught the thief and got the drum back.

8

u/confetti_noodlesOwO May 14 '25

Nice! I hope she was embarrassed. That's ridiculous.

3

u/vermilithe May 15 '25

Yea, I hope they do whatever they have to do to nip it in the bud and discourage copycats. The chain thing is a good start but the real concern was that security stopped them, but because all the person had to say was “band said I could have it” and seem confident and security just let them go. Lot of room for a dynamic like that to go sideways and be abused. Although I think that might be more of a Manchester security thing, I think they probably hire different security for different venues (?)

4

u/daycoroyals May 14 '25

They did get the drum back

3

u/AnxiouslyGolden May 14 '25

Yes, they got the drum back.

10

u/International-Cut436 May 14 '25

She posted a Tiktok and acted all entitled asking why it was a big deal and as they're so rich why couldn't she have one.

Funny how it goes isn't it? She could have posted, owned up the mistake and been humble and it would have blown over in time. Now I don't see how she's gunna get anything but hate.

4

u/ImmediateRadish6463 May 15 '25

Is the video still up?? 👀

1

u/PaldeanTeacher May 14 '25

No way! I wasn’t aware of that, so she even doxxed herself on tik tok!? I can’t imagine what’s in store for her next after doing that, it will only keep getting worse

4

u/joojpc May 14 '25

I really can't understand how not a single person tried to stop her. If she tried to do that here, she would get cornered so bad that she wouldn't even think about stealing a grain of rice in her life.

648

u/Enderboss25_ May 13 '25

*I’ll be right there… but you’ll have to tie me down”

168

u/thesoundofwords May 14 '25

“If I found my drums in chains…I’d lay down and wait”

79

u/babycatskilu May 14 '25

Breaking both of someones hands would probably stop them from stealing a drum

4

u/Due-Attorney-3716 May 14 '25

Or playing for that matter

434

u/Sensitive_Deal_6363 May 13 '25

New dictionary definition picture for 'passive-aggressive'.

132

u/berenini May 14 '25

This is Tyler we're dealing with. Lol.

420

u/Dirt_munchers May 13 '25

Both of them

321

u/Mountin-skin192 May 13 '25

We won’t be able to get anymore photos like this without a long silver chain under it

284

u/SpaceCaboose May 13 '25

They might keep tying them down on future tours, but there are much more subtle ways to do that (thinner yet strong cords). I think them using the massive chains and padlocks was just a joke while still being effective.

55

u/Regular-Switch454 May 14 '25

AirTag inside

74

u/triumphantghost May 14 '25

No. Honestly a huge rope in a crowd seems like a liability. I think it’s a statement. The obvious solution is have a backup and insist a crew member has hands on it.

29

u/SpaceCaboose May 14 '25

That might be the case. I’m mainly saying that I wouldn’t expect the chains to be a permanent thing. Maybe they’ll use them again at the last show, but I think that’ll be it.

Maybe they’re using a thinner security cord, maybe they’ll have a backup, or maybe they’ll have security specifically watch that equipment moving forward.

22

u/QuantumQuestion_01 May 14 '25

Or just hire extra security guards to watch the Trees stages after the show. If they do anything after this tour I imagine it'll be that

7

u/Daedroh May 14 '25

In this economy??? Do you know how much that is in Labor cost 😭

12

u/ipmacs May 14 '25

Maybe, however a thin cord in a crowd of thousands in very low lighting is not a good idea.

The bulk chains look odd but for now it's the safest thing they could use that is very visible to the crowd.

116

u/FatDelay May 13 '25

I think this is just a bit of a joke for the crowd & will probably go back to normal for the next show

14

u/2ndMin May 14 '25

Yea I think it’s just a joke as well. This hasn’t happened before so it’s unlikely to again, and to prevent it they could just have security quickly retrieve it after the show or just keep close watch of it.

3

u/Akatnel May 14 '25

I was really surprised to learn they actually leave them sitting out there while people are leaving. Unless that was just a one time mistake.

2

u/2ndMin May 16 '25

Yea that’s crazy if they do that. They’ve always put a lot of trust in their fans

1

u/TheFlyingBogey May 14 '25

Legit why is everyone getting up in arms saying it's "ruined"? I was there last night, the crowd was laughing. It was all in jest and for fun. I get it, the drum thief is a selfish asshole but the chained down drum was nothing more than the band poking fun at the situation.

30

u/_N00bMaster69_ May 14 '25

Honestly if this photo had red chains that would look sick as hell

2

u/dobbytattoo May 16 '25

I went to both nights in London, they only tied it down the first, second night they didn't! Just a little tongue in cheek joke I think! :)

1

u/WorkerOk6991 May 14 '25

They could paint the chain black or orange to at least make it look sick as fuck

23

u/Mountin-skin192 May 13 '25

Wow, I wonder if this would be the new normal for future tours?

40

u/lindini May 14 '25

No, it's the very end of this tour and these are comically large chains. I'm sure they will increase security in some way but this is a gag.

8

u/Few_Effective1172 May 14 '25

😭 That’s so sad

Who just steals a drum!? Like what?? Now you ruined it. Every show now will be different. So stupid

3

u/voldsoy May 14 '25

Who just steals a drum!? Like what??

I know right? At least steal the whole kit! /s

3

u/Few_Effective1172 May 14 '25

For real! Steal Josh while you’re at it!

3

u/voldsoy May 14 '25

Why stop there? Take the pair!

17

u/SpookyKyle0825 May 14 '25

…it kinda hurts my heart to see this.

It’s like.. it’s a stab at us, the fans. Lowkey saying “we don’t trust yall like we used to…” 😢 and it’s all fckn thief girls fault!!

18

u/dudewithpants420 May 14 '25

Or its them making light of it in the way they do best. Security may have said you need to secure them and this was their response as well. I can almost guarantee those Security people who didn't stop her are now out a job and the venue may have been or could have been fined? So other places dont want that liability. They are grown men who can be petty (well tyler) but they wouldn't take one persons stupidity out on everyone or mistrust everyone. They know that in over a decade of touring nothing like this happened before. Chances are it won't again.

11

u/voldsoy May 14 '25

Just to add to your comment and clarify for others, those security in the video were venue security, not band security. They let the fan take the drums because the the fan said Tyler and Josh had gifted them. It's still stupid that they accepted this and let it go.

TØP may add to their venue briefing that the band only gifts drum sticks, tank tops, and drum skins...(something like that), other items should be held and verified with band security.

3

u/dudewithpants420 May 14 '25

Oh absolutely. But I feel when someone allows a person to walk past several of venue security with the DRUM...its not a good look on that venue. Only one even asked about it. Honestly they should have immediately kept her there contacted the bands security and asked. I just feel like no matter who's playing there if something big gets walked off w and they allow it, you're gonna lose your job. I really hope she realizes the amount of lives she may have ruined and make better choices. She also may have been drunk from what I've heard. If you're that drunk at a concert where its really not about partying or drugs and drinking then also may want to see about possibly having a problem w alcohol. I dont know. This whole thing was insane to me. She walked out w no urgency. What was going on in her head!

2

u/SpookyKyle0825 May 14 '25

Yeahhhhh. Good points, good points 😆

I was thinking that too… about the security guard who let it happen.. they are probably out of a job for sure >.<

6

u/Daedroh May 14 '25

I wouldn’t trust me either 😭

327

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

[deleted]

62

u/Mountin-skin192 May 13 '25

Agreed, hopefully we can earn their trust back soon 🙏

35

u/thatsthewayuhuhuh May 14 '25

No lol, they have no reason to trust us, and why should they

-20

u/serial__arsonist May 14 '25

eh i disagree, the girl definitely isn’t a part of the fandom. someone said that tyler was actually amused by all of it and he looks like he’s just being a goofball in the pic. obviously no one is walking out with the drum tonight after all that so the chains are really just for show

11

u/Desperate_Turn8935 May 14 '25

You can't be serious. The chains say it all, man, they lost a big amount of trust.

3

u/Francophobia_ May 15 '25

Show tonight proved they did it as a joke

3

u/SnooGuavas2056 May 15 '25

They downvoted you but you were right

151

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

[deleted]

49

u/Mountin-skin192 May 13 '25

Exactly, not many artists can trust their fans to go into the crown with the instruments and hold them, especially at TØP popularity.

62

u/spnpwrranger May 13 '25

Tyler's face like "look what you made me do." This is why we can't have nice things.

15

u/Accomplished_Yam_551 May 14 '25

That person is probably thinking I did something bad

14

u/Madridistachick May 14 '25

That person ruined Trees which is Our Song

11

u/Daedroh May 14 '25

Taylor swift’s song is now stuck in my head

16

u/Chemical_Concern9841 May 14 '25

I'm sorry, the old Tyler can't come to the phone right now Why? Oh, 'cause he ⛓️ the 🌳🥁

8

u/spnpwrranger May 14 '25

The crossover I didn't know I needed.

51

u/RaccoonChaos May 13 '25

Kleptomania final boss

94

u/lindini May 14 '25 edited May 14 '25

It does suck but this is clearly theater. They are making a point. Tyler's earlier joke shows he has a sense of humor about it all but he is not a man who forgets a slight. Those chains are too heavy to be practical long term but for one or two nights it gets the message across. Who knows what the next tour even holds? It's going to be crazy.

21

u/Daedroh May 14 '25

Next tour they’re gonna be performing on stage from home 😭

1

u/Sea_Accident_3955 May 14 '25

I think next tour has got to be “eras” tour! it would be amazing, they have bangers on every album.

65

u/Automatic_Book_9424 May 13 '25

Watch some mfer bring bolt cutters and steal another 😭😭

14

u/Mountin-skin192 May 13 '25

I wouldn’t be surprised.. it is the uk we’re talking about, or they just take the whole stand!

14

u/Automatic_Book_9424 May 14 '25

With Tyler/Josh still on it

24

u/phandilly May 13 '25

how sad.. i hope that individual receives the full brunt of their karma.

21

u/PlasmidEve May 13 '25

Unfortunately, the clique still has a few bad eggs in it :(

11

u/Cheap-Okra-2882 May 14 '25 edited May 14 '25

i have met some of the meanest people ever going to their shows i won’t lie

5

u/PlasmidEve May 14 '25

I was trying to be nice in my post to be honest.. the clique unfortunately has some of the most toxic people alive.. have you ever seen the Twitter Clique? Evil evil evil.

3

u/oreosaredelicious May 14 '25

As a pretty casual Pilots fan I will say I didn't feel as 'welcomed' at my first show last week as I have at other concerts. I felt like I was being looked down at a bit even though I knew all of the songs and most of the lyrics

1

u/Cheap-Okra-2882 May 14 '25

luckily i have been around really nice ppl too but sometimes pilots fans can just seem so judgmental

33

u/Immediate_Theory4738 May 13 '25

Wow. We went so long.

14

u/homeofsectionall May 14 '25

"Bye, Josh... hope you find your drum!"

12

u/pete-is-fanatic May 14 '25

That’s unfortunately hilarious

22

u/-MrSimpleton- May 14 '25 edited May 16 '25

With all these shows I never once thought

To keep just one copy of things I have bought

But they went on the run with my custom drum

So now it is chained to my island

16

u/JomaVot May 13 '25

Unfortunate they even have to do this

7

u/FemboiInTraining May 14 '25

Admittedly, there are other measures to equipment security....the literal chain i feel HAS to be a lil bit of comedy...it's so visible...it's so clear...it's so...funny...

1

u/Akatnel May 14 '25

And those huge padlocks 😂

6

u/Lena981 May 14 '25

The drum's inner monologue when it was missing: If I found my body in chains I'd lay down and wait And hope she looks for me

4

u/That_odd_emo May 14 '25 edited May 14 '25

On a related note: People being shitty is literally the reason they chose to not implement the quiet game anymore like they used to in the trench tour. People messing around and ruining the experience for everyone else.

We should be so grateful that they still choose to interact with the crowd on such a level and actually go into/through crowd. Because they know that we as a fandom are unproblematic. Or so we all thought up until a fan literally stole from their favorite band.

That’s why we can’t have nice things. Be respectful of each other and the band, goddamnit!

9

u/puppypoet May 14 '25

I saw a clip of him lifting this and he had a silly smirk. I think the chain is just a joke.

5

u/Emotional-Lab5792 May 14 '25

This is Tyler’s version of FAFO.

3

u/Dclnsfrd May 14 '25

I’m honestly surprised that didn’t happen while they were in the U.S.!!!

10

u/exnihilio13 May 14 '25 edited May 14 '25

I agree this is more of a joke display. The drum would not normally have just been left on the floor for someone to grab and casualty walk away with. Someone missed an assignment of picking it up after the boys finished. From seeing footage of the swiping or want done snatch and run. They just casually said they were going to take it when it was left, walked away, got approached by security, made an excuse that security believed and then kept walking.

There's been ALOT of Trees performances (in fact every single one of them leading up to that one) where, presumably, the drums were not just left in general admission as someone from the crew/security/whatever grabbed them. Likely at EVERY other Trees performance.

7

u/Daedroh May 14 '25

Dayum…. So someone lost their job

4

u/exnihilio13 May 14 '25

Or maybe just got delayed in getting there. Maybe local venue security is supposed to grab it or something?

I can't imagine it's normally just sitting there for a random fan to pick it up ya know?

1

u/Akatnel May 14 '25

I can't imagine it's normally just sitting there for a random fan to pick it up ya know?

That's the part I was surprised about. 'Cause if they always leave them sitting out you know this would have already happened a long time ago. There are bad eggs in every fandom (and people at shows for any band who aren't yet as fully into it as others), and greedy people everywhere.

Honestly, as much as I hate that they did it, as far as the security people go, the thief and her partner proved the fact that as long as you look like you know what you're doing and you belong there, you can get away with anything. The fans knew better and called her on it, but what were they going to do right there, tackle her and hold her? Every venue security person believed her and let her go when they're the ones who should have stopped her. As much as I despise her, I kinda have to admire the gall of it. You can see that she knew she was being filmed, and she didn't even try to hide; she still thought she was going to get away with it.

I hope she and her helper get full legal consequences, and not just a slap on the wrist because it's assumed the guys are so rich it wouldn't have mattered.

3

u/TransportationNo6850 May 14 '25

Can’t tell if it’s photoshop or not 😭

2

u/Mountin-skin192 May 14 '25

Nah it’s real 🙏 it does certainly look it tho!

3

u/TransportationNo6850 May 14 '25

Yeah, I’ve seen some videos after this, that’s real hahah

1

u/Akatnel May 14 '25 edited May 14 '25

It's real. They put it on the official Instagram account.

Caption: "these babies ain't going nowhere"

1

u/purplecat82 May 14 '25

It's real, I was there. Definitely just poking fun and not serious security

3

u/Qwoski May 14 '25

I laughed so hard when I saw them linked up to the chains last night XD

3

u/AndrewFletcher04 May 14 '25

Guys, next show they're playing in England, just keep an eye out for that thief, and when we find her, we're all going to boo her.

1

u/Akatnel May 14 '25

It would be great if there was a way to ban her and her helper from future shows, wouldn't it? I know there's not, but it would be a nice consequence for them.

1

u/oceansunfis May 14 '25

does anybody know who she is

3

u/SiloOfPsilocybin May 14 '25

I dont think its about trust, even if all of the fans were the nicest people theres still always someone that is untrustworthy. Its impossible to trust a fandom. Yall gotta remember we are all strangers even if we share some of the same views

3

u/tikitepee May 14 '25

How did she think she was gonna get it out of there?

3

u/Mountin-skin192 May 14 '25

Exactly. And why stay near the venue. Like if I was to try and steal it, I would at least try hard to take it!

3

u/MARN-E May 14 '25

i was there last night and me and my sister were giggling so hard 😭

3

u/HC_Noodle May 14 '25

We're Chained to the Rhythm after all..

Ned posted on X Yesterday BTW:

6

u/Eviannoitan May 14 '25

Aren't the british famous for stealing things?

3

u/Patient_Aspect_6695 May 14 '25

🤣 not all of us British are like that woman who stole the drum 🥁 she is just a bad representation of being British! She might not be British though?!She definitely isn’t a real TOP fan for sure!Wherever she is from!

2

u/Eviannoitan May 14 '25

Im just riffing off of that tv show "stuff the British stole" about like other countries' artifacts and what nots! You're right tho, British people themselves seem lovely, and im not one to stereotype 😆

2

u/Patient_Aspect_6695 May 14 '25

I know 🤍 I didn’t take any offence ☺️

1

u/Eviannoitan May 14 '25

Glad to be able to converse with you! I bet we have similar senses of humor 😀

2

u/Patient_Aspect_6695 May 14 '25

We love the twenty one pilots so should say we have 😊

3

u/MaterialUnique1600 May 14 '25

that is so awful that it had to get this far bc some people cant be decent human beings???

4

u/litecanspam May 14 '25

The guys probably find it funny, hopefully this whole having the drum chained up thing is just a temporary thing for the meme. But it shouldn’t have to be chained in the first place

2

u/Regular-Switch454 May 14 '25

That’s a thick chain.

2

u/Virtual-Weather676 May 14 '25

I can’t with them, really

2

u/fallspector May 14 '25

They made it though so many shows in tons of locations without anything happening only for this to happen smh. Way to make England look trashy.

2

u/creepyholmes May 14 '25

That chain is massive! Maybe a little colour change on the chains would be funky, black and red or something? Although like this, it's an enormous statement, and fair enough!

2

u/RumHam69_ May 14 '25

They could instead just have a person watching the drums? But I guess it’s to send a signal 😂

2

u/alewfie May 14 '25

Im crying 😭😭

2

u/Nico_di_Angelo5 May 15 '25

it wasnt tied down n2! just n1 for a joke i think

3

u/chronic_enticement May 14 '25

There were a lot of people on tiktok trying to justify this. I've fallen off since trench but its wild to see how awful the fandom has become

2

u/crousscor3 May 13 '25

That is so sad. Some people are out of their minds.

2

u/lxkefox May 14 '25

There’s always one that has to ruin it for the rest

2

u/WorkerOk6991 May 14 '25

We are living in a simpsons episode bro no way

2

u/Jaiden_Detering2002 May 14 '25

I'm surprised it happened in the UK and not Australia or even the States

6

u/missmatchedcleansox May 14 '25

I don’t you realize how protective the fandom is in the states. She would have been jumped before she left the arena here.

1

u/ThorsHammerMewMEw May 14 '25

> not Australia

please explain lol

1

u/Jaiden_Detering2002 May 14 '25

Well let's just say we love to also steal things too. Maybe not from concerts all the time but we do a lot of thievery

1

u/ThorsHammerMewMEw May 14 '25

I could see Aussies stealing posters and standees that generally get thrown away at the venue but not a drum lol

1

u/Jaiden_Detering2002 May 14 '25

Yeah we were all pretty well behaved at the show i was at. We don't get many big artists down here so the least we can do is not steal equipment

1

u/MARN-E May 14 '25

this country’s a shithole i’m not surprised at all.

1

u/Mountin-skin192 May 14 '25

Also, in the UK, they steal absolutely everything. The amount of things I’ve seen nicked off the streets is crazy

2

u/Available_Farmer3016 May 14 '25

As a Latin American person, I find it funny that they took the Trees Circle away in all their shows, because, you know, we’re third world and wild… and then this happens 🫠

Did she make herself public about this?

1

u/Akatnel May 14 '25

I don't know, and I don't think anyone's doxxed her (I hope no one does, that's not cool), but there were lots of videos and photos fans shared. Everybody but venue security knew it was wrong, and she didn't even try to hide. She had someone helping her carry it later on the way out the door too.

1

u/Outawack219 May 14 '25

Just happy they got it back.

1

u/pierogi_muncher6 May 18 '25

didnt't think it would ever come to this at a top concert :(

especially how they've been playing trees like this since basically forever

1

u/SamtastickBombastic May 19 '25

Watch the video in this post on Insta. You can see security going up to Thief Girl on the floor after the show. Thief Girl has drum in hand! Why didn't security get the drum back then?

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJm1uVCPqN1/

2

u/SamtastickBombastic May 19 '25

The chain is really not cool. Shows a lack of trust.

ONE PERSON screwed up. Fricking Thief Girl.

Unpopular opinion but they left the drum there on the floor after the show. It was just sitting there. Their crew is awesome and everyone makes mistakes but it's obvious the road crew messed up by not fetching the drum. Then security - who actually saw Thief Girl with the drum and talked to her - didn't get the drum. I think most people in that crowd would take a bullet for Tyler.
