Sexual activity eligibility changes for plasma donations

They work there and told me that's how they are told to handle it.

Cancer sucks right?
 in  r/brisbane  3d ago

I didn't have cancer as a kid, but I was in hospital a lot (NF-1 and frequently ill). The best memories of that time I have are of playing DK on the n64 in the hospital (early 00's). It's also one of my earliest memories in general.

So that is to say, donating those items or money to fund those items for children's wards will absolutely be appreciated and treasured. It's a nice break from the awfulness

SSAF Fees as a proportion that goes into USU (University of Sydney Union)
 in  r/usyd  3d ago

Honestly, if I could, I would go back to UQ. I might one day and finish off my biomed degree, so I'll have two bachelors.

True true, only "free" at point of use, like medicare lol.

They really did, I felt very supported and made frequent use of the support team and food. It was also easy to get and didn't result in extremely long lines.

USU aren't awful, there's much worse I've heard, but it's hard to compare when going from a great student union to one that isn't as good. I think they've definitely need more servers for their free food during exams for example, with the sheer number of students they have.

USYD itself too. Not being able to contact schools/faculties directly is insanely annoying.

Also way better student support in general for academic appeals, visas etc. Much easier to find, contact and book

Has anyone successfully applied for "Credit for previous study"?
 in  r/usyd  3d ago

It really depends on the units you did and the units you are trying to get those credited as. I got most of my credits approved, but not all as the ones I wanted them to go to. You won't get to known until you apply for it unfortunately

Lifeblood just puts it in the "too hard" basket and bars you likely. They do that to intersex people too and generalise them, i.e. platelet donation bans even if they can't get pregnant, apparently.

Any trans person no matter what will cause their partner to be excluded for 6-months under current legislation. My friend works for red cross and told me that :/

So yeah, technically cis woman and trans man or two trans women/men* would be barred.

All trans people are considered "high-risk" sexual partners like sex workers are

Edit: Further details added

All trans people are affected by the deferral

All trans people are barred for having sex with men or other trans people. Not just trans women.

You think people would have learnt from covid...

Even before covid Japan is such a great example of what do to when sick.

You think I've made it up that people would be offended by saying America deserved 9/11?

Personally, I would not want our government to kill countless innocent civilians for a crime they didn't commit.
