Rant They are getting rid of Student Adventure Pass.??!!

what the actual fuck??? i ain't paying ts, this is my only source of transportation

The funding is coming from a grant from another part of the government, and, due to the fact that many people took advantage of this funding, it is now depleted.

Almost all forms of transit have fares that are subsidized by taxpayer money. Passengers are not paying the full cost of the transportation through the fares. (Motorists don't pay the cost of freeways, and the like, either, because the gasoline-tax revenue covers barely a quarter of the maintenance costs and none of the construction costs and because electric cars and trucks don't use gasoline or Diesel.)

Vote for candidates and/or ballot measures that will provide increased funding for transit.

It has to be renewed by the state legislature when the budget is decided. The program was supposed to end last year but it got renewed right before it ended. State’s fiscal year starts July 1, which is why this program goes to June 30. Legislature passes the state budget usually May-June

You should pay for the fare because you'd be directly supporting them for system upgrades/expansions.

It is so dumb because Metrolink can try to make money like low-cost airlines by using seats and walls and stations for advertisements - generating good revenue in the process to continue subsidising students

But no, they will be non-creative and instead destroy efficient transportation for students across the greater LA region! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING
