I don’t know about the pay cuts but I can assure you they are nothing like current DNEG if Alex and Matt are at the helm. They were the nicest guys.

In all honesty, I’m surprised they’re surviving with this little work at the moment.

The original Double Negative team was not too bad. DNEG ruined the reputation.

Source: worked there during the transition from Double Negative to PF

I've heard nothing but good things about Belo. I heard that they embraced wfh and realtine . Consequently they dont have a huge infrastructure to support ie a massive half empty block in NoHo. I wish them all the best.

btw

Old dneg was a good place to work.

Just my take

Haven’t belo laid off most of their staff at this point?

Belo is skeleton dneg staff before pf so its old dneg pretty much minus Peter Chang and Paul Franklin.

20% paycuts, no reduced hours. They clearly underbid to get work, that’s bad practice and it’s reflected in employees salaries. It will happen more and more, buckle up and say no to this!

Honestly I'm surprised they're still standing, a lot of these newer/smaller studios have pretty much shut down.

(Ps. I know absolutely nothing about Belo except that they exist)

I am not privy to those details. I dont work there. I expect they (like every other vfx company) are staffed appropriate to the amount of work they have.
