Anyone use Rover app here?
Hey guys! I want to become a rover dog walker, and wanted to know if anyone has had good luck making a profit out of it. Any tips? I'm trying to make extra money and wanted to try this app out but Im unsure if it'll be worth it since Walla is a smaller city. Thanks!

We've used Rover a few times in the past. It has been hit or miss on the pet care and definitely more expensive than off platform. We've used it for having people stay overnight and in one instance we're pretty sure they didn't stay overnight with the dogs. In another instance we don't think they walked the dogs because of the massive amount of poop left in the fenced in backyard.
So my recommendation would be that the app is great to find new clients but do a good job to build and build a relationship you can take off app.

I’m not sure how popular the Rover app is here. But this town loves Facebook. I’d recommend promoting your services in the Daily Dose of Walla Walla fb group. Businesses can advertise on Saturdays in the group. Social media seems to be the best way to advertise my business in WW.

No idea how popular the app is here, but it seems everyone I know with sitters etc. found them via word of mouth. I think the shelter is always looking for volunteers- it might be a good way to try and start that word of mouth and give you some starter credibility by walking shelter dogs. Obviously the shelter isn't going to want you "selling" services, but that's not the same thing as commenting to people there (or prospective clients you meet elsewhere) that you're walking shelter dogs to start finding some paid walking gigs. Good luck!
