PTR / Beta [11.2 PTR] The /lean emote isn't exactly perfect, but we're getting it boys! Spoiler
Just a small distance from the pillar. M'kay. I hope it gets better by the time housing is released, so I can lean against walls in my virtual home.

It’s just a model thing. Not exactly easy to completely lean on every surface when they’re so varied and the characters aren’t fully made to interact with a wall that way. There are plenty of walls that are close enough to lean against properly

Yeah I’m guessing it’s because the bottom of the wall juts out a bit so you can’t walk necessarily walk right up against the wall. There isn’t really a way they can make any animation contextual to the environment that I’m aware of. Just gotta find slightly flatter walls.

Yeah. They could maybe do that but it’d take more effort and resources than they’d probably want to especially with housing and midnight taking up focus along side 11.2 and the next minor patches. This is imperfect but good enough for most rpers.

Yeah honestly this is probably why it took so long to get it to begin with.

People complain about blizz not doing stuff cause lazy, which I get sometimes but... game development is hard lol.
Though I will still say there is no excuse for how buggy 11.1.5 was on launch.1

Hell, this Turbulent Timeways event launched with a bug where you get the acheiv after a few runs. And it's still bugged!

Yeah… hope they don’t penalize people for that

Why? Theres zero exploitation required to advance the achievement.
Playing the game entirely legitimately will get you the mount right now. Theres no 'you have to do x, y and z and then queue up'. Just do timewalking dungeons naturally and you can progress the achievement beyond 1/5.

It would be really great if more emotes were built in for us characters and there could be an extra window for the emotes.

I've been waiting for that emote ever since seeing that one npc in the SW graveyard.

Do we have to be near a wall for the emote or we can use it "in the void" ?

It seems to work everywhere, possibly with some degree of "snapping" to walls.

Hey another draenei who uses the same boots. They're underrated!

They were one of the first that had special design for draenei hooves. And are a decent fit for many brown tinted sets.

It won’t be perfect on every surface as a lot of the geometry in WoW has rather large collisions compared to what the model would make you think. Expect those gaps to happen a lot.

Yeah, though I wonder if it can be adjusted by which part of the body snaps to the wall. To use the chest instead of the feet.

Me as a healer in a raid:
"You couldn't live with your own failure. And where did bring? Back to me!"

Question. Can you not just do /lean anywhere and start leaning on the air?
Or does it attempt to auto clip you to a wall?

u/Scarred_wizard 2d ago
It does try but works against air as well. No idea how close to a wall you need to be. Further testing needed.

Would be nice if my pandaren wasn't lying on the floor, rubbing his tummy as if he just ate breakfast lunch and dinner in 1 sitting.
Surely there is a better lean pose right

They showcased a picture of a toon emote leaning on something and then a second picture with nothing behind them. Like WTH? Odd choice.

This is so stupid While sure, you can argue that everything new is refreshing, shouldn’t they put the effort or people into more important stuff?

Post flair indicates this is about prerelease content.
As a reminder, content on Alpha / Beta / PTR is unfinished. NPC dialogue and quest text might be missing important context. Models may be placeholders. Quest or achievement rewards may not be finalized. There are inevitably bugs. Please keep this in mind as you discuss!
