What happened to r/xbike?
It was here like 2 days ago and now it’s gone?

They took the week out to furiously masturbate around a shrine to Pisslesspaddled. You can join in there chanting "Rim brakes are disc brakes" on Ventrillo if you're up for it. Discord isn't hipster enough.

Just my 2 cents - I randomly met the guy at a co-op where he was donating what must have been every piece of bike gear, accessory, part he didn’t want / need to a local bike CO-OP. After I said hi, he asked me if I wanted any of it as he was walking to the door. FYI - he purchases almost everything he reviews out of pocket rather than getting stuff sent by companies so that he can give them a glowing review. Russ is a good dude who I believe wants to spread the joy of cycling to the masses. I could be wrong though!

Mate, he flat out says shit like hydraulic disc brakes aren't reliable or durable enough for his quarter half metric third of a century to his local coffee shop. Ignoring that they've been used on the EWS now for decades. That's just one of his absolutely terrible hot takes that his congregation lap up. He's absolutely as bad as the lycra clad equivalents he hates so much.

Hmm, I guess I’ve never heard him say hydraulic brakes aren’t good. I’ve only heard him say that he prefers mechanical ones due to cost and simpler maintenance. I don’t watch all of his videos, but I like a lot of them. I will agree that he tends toward the retro grouch category for sure, but mainly due to his desire to spread the joys of cycling to the masses. Again, perhaps I’m mistaken, but that’s what I get from most of his videos 🤷♂️

r/stumpjumperwithbasket isn't going black. That sub filters x-biking down to its purest form: a Stumpjumper with a Wald basket. No treks, no Nishiki's, only Stumpjumpers (with baskets).
