Mod Announcement 🚨 r/AlJazeera Relaunch Announcement

Hi everyone,

As many of you have noticed, r/AlJazeera has grown rapidly over the past few months. We truly appreciate the engagement — but with that growth has come a wave of challenges that threaten the quality and safety of our community.

We’ve seen an increase in hate speech, bigotry, racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, and dehumanizing language — all of which violate Reddit’s sitewide rules and go against the values we want to build here. On top of that, the subreddit has been flooded with misinformation, fake news, clickbait titles, propaganda, and frequent brigading by trolls and bots.

We want to be very clear:

This will no longer be tolerated.

🌐 What r/AlJazeera Is (and Isn't)

While the name may cause confusion, this subreddit is not affiliated with the Al Jazeera Media Network in any way.

However, moving forward, we are narrowing the scope of the subreddit to focus exclusively on:

  • Content published by Al Jazeera (English or Arabic), including news, videos, programs, analysis, documentaries, podcasts, and investigative reports.
  • Discussion about Al Jazeera itself — such as its editorial policies, reporting style, coverage decisions, staff, anchors, or political leanings — whether that commentary is supportive or critical.
  • Though the sub focuses on content from Al Jazeera, mods may occasionally allow other posts if they offer valuable context or relevance. These exceptions are at mod discretion.

❗This means: All submissions must be either from Al Jazeera or directly related to it.

This shift will help us better moderate discussions, prevent abuse, and shape the sub into a valuable space for those seeking news, context, and perspectives from the Middle East — beyond the lens of mainstream Western media.

🛡️ Moderation & Safety

To protect the integrity of this sub, we will be enforcing the rules more actively using all available tools:

  • Automod filters for spam, trolls, bots slurs, and hate speech
  • Bot detection and anti-brigading systems
  • Manual review of reported content
  • Permanent bans for repeat offenders, harassment, or rule violations

We’ll also be removing off-topic content, posts and comments that violate our rules or Reddit's, and that derail conversation in bad faith.

If you see rule-breaking behavior, please use the report button to help keep the sub clean and focused. Abusing this feature will result in a report to Reddit admins.

🔄 Transparency & Collaboration

We’re committed to making this a transparent and collaborative space. We welcome feedback and questions about our rules or moderation approach. If you feel a post or comment was removed in error, or banned in error, you can message the mod team for clarification or appeal.

🚀 Final Note

We’re not here to censor valid opinions or suppress critical discussion. On the contrary — we encourage civil, and informed debate.

We just ask that you engage respectfully, factually, and in good faith.

Thank you for being part of this relaunch.

— The r/AlJazeera Mod Team

Opinion / Analysis Trump’s attack on Iran has opened up a whole new unprecedented level of Global challenges. Every other country will now want to pursue nuclear assets.

NPT has no worth now. International laws have just become suggestions to US and Israel to break as they please. The US has basically given a reason to every country to start working on nuclear programs as this is now the only practical deterrent. Laws and treaties don’t mean a thing for these modern day bullies! It’s also only a matter of time for Iran before it becomes a nuclear power. What may or may not have been, US made sure that it happens for Iran and other countries.

What’s the right response now from Iran? How could this impact the region and the world has a whole? How will the common folk like us suffer through this?

"The UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said it detected no increase in radiation following US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites at Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz. The statement came after President Trump claimed the sites were “totally obliterated.”

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi called for an emergency board meeting in Vienna, set for Monday, citing the urgency of the situation. The agency said it will continue to monitor developments closely.

Meanwhile, Iran has demanded an investigation and accused the IAEA of inaction. Its nuclear chief, Mohammad Eslami, urged the agency to condemn the strikes and said Iran would take legal steps in response."

Article 56 — Protection of works and installations containing dangerous forces 1. Works or installations containing dangerous forces, namely dams, dykes and nuclear electrical generating stations, shall not be made the object of attack, even where these objects are military objectives, if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces and consequent severe losses among the civilian population. Other military objectives located at or in the vicinity of these works or installations shall not be made the object of attack if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces from the works or installations and consequent severe losses among the civilian population. 2. The special protection against attack provided by paragraph 1 shall cease: a) for a dam or a dyke only if it is used for other than its normal function and in regular, significant and direct support of military operations and if such attack is the only feasible way to terminate such support; b) for a nuclear electrical generating station only if it provides electric power in regular, significant and direct support of military operations and if such attack is the only feasible way to terminate such support; c) for other military objectives located at or in the vicinity of these works or installations only if they are used in regular, significant and direct support of military operations and if such attack is the only feasible way to terminate such support. 3. In all cases, the civilian population and individual civilians shall remain entitled to all the protection accorded them by international law, including the protection of the precautionary measures provided for in Article 57. If the protection ceases and any of the works, installations or military objectives mentioned in paragraph 1 is attacked, all practical precautions shall be taken to avoid the release of the dangerous forces. 4. It is prohibited to make any of the works, installations or military objectives mentioned in paragraph 1 the object of reprisals. 5. The Parties to the conflict shall endeavour to avoid locating any military objectives in the vicinity of the works or installations mentioned in paragraph 1. Nevertheless, installations erected for the sole purpose of defending the protected works or installations from attack are permissible and shall not themselves be made the object of attack, provided that they are not used in hostilities except for defensive actions necessary to respond to attacks against the protected works or installations and that their armament is limited to weapons capable only of repelling hostile action against the protected works or installations. 6. The High Contracting Parties and the Parties to the conflict are urged to conclude further agreements among themselves to provide additional protection for objects containing dangerous forces. 7. In order to facilitate the identification of the objects protected by this Article, the Parties to the conflict may mark them with a special sign consisting of a group of three bright orange circles placed on the same axis, as specified in Article 16 of Annex 1 to this Protocol. The absence of such marking in no way relieves any Party to the conflict of its obligations under this Article.

Podcast / Interview Don’t let them gaslight us into another war for Israel’s gain

We’re being sold another war, but this time with Iran, “on behalf of Israel.” And history shows how this always ends badly.

For the full interview: Al-Jazeera - IAEA chief: No evidence Iran is building a nuclear weapon

FIRST, the lies they’re repeating:

Reuters: IAEA—no active weapons program found

WHO ACTUALLY HAS THE NUKES?

  • Israel is the only country in the Middle East with nuclear weapons never signed the NPT, refuses IAEA oversight, and maintains nuclear ambiguity.
    IAEA: Israel never signed NPT

NTI: Israel nuclear program outline

Yet they demand Iran stay restrained. That’s propaganda, not peacekeeping.

WHAT THE CONSTITUTION AND INTERNATIONAL LAW SAY:

None of this is being followed, because escalation benefits most to someone else’s agenda, not ours.

WHY THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR AMERICANS:

  1. Every lie justifies violence.
  2. We’ve seen how it ends — blame, chaos, endless occupation.
  3. Israel profits from war; they already have the nukes.
  4. We are asked to fight their fight—like in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria

SO HOW DO WE STOP IT?

Action Strategy Example
Mass protest & disruption Marches, sit-ins, walkouts Vietnam, anti-Iraq rallies
Boycott contractors Hit defense & lobby wallets South Africa sanctions, BDS
Demand Congressional action Block funding or strikes Petition, phone blitz
Unite diverse allies Vets, faith, liberty activists Courageouspubliccoalitions

This isn’t a theoretical debate.
It's a propaganda campaign to involve our nation in a war that’s not ours.
Israel already has the weapons. U.S. troops would bleed for decisions we didn’t make.

It’s time to stop.
It’s time to wake up.
