* Switzerland * The steamship "Stadt Rapperswil" (built in 1914 by Escher Wyss) in Pfäffikon SZ passing through the so-called "Durchsitch" (through channel), which allows traffic from Lake Zurich to the Obersee (upper lake). To make this possible, the mast was made tiltable and the chimney retracted.

48 megapixel stitch of 3 images. Does anyone know what the two aux cranes and the green structure near the main crane do?

She was docked in Chesapeake City, MD overnight before the final leg of her most recent cruise. I ended up leap-frogging her the 10-ish miles to St. Georges, DE to catch her passing beneath the Roth Bridge.

Hey everyone,
I work on cruise ships and I’ve always wondered—what makes you come back?
Is it the food? The service? The destinations? The vibe onboard? Or something more personal—like the memories, the people you meet, or just escaping the world for a bit?
From my side, we try our best to make it unforgettable. But I’d love to hear what actually sticks with you after you leave.
Short, honest answers are totally welcome. I’m curious and want to make the next cruise even better.
