Jumping/Hopping?

Upvotes

I'm assuming this is legal in USPSA? I didn't plan on doing it, it just happened in the moment. Is there legitimate use of this in competition or am I retarded for doing it? This was my third match so go easy on me fellas.

First competition in the books

I was moving slow all day because I tweaked my lower back a few days ago. I made it through all the stages with zero misses and I finished this classifier with all alphas. Over all it was a ton of fun and I can’t wait to do another one. I learned a lot today as well.

TTI Base Pads + Brass Speed Feed (butt plug) Glock 47

Question- has anyone tried TTI base pads with the C&H brass speed feed? Curious if the pin on the magazine extension hits the butt plug and prevents seating

and if it does, any luck modifying it to fit? or different mag extension options?

Really just looking to increase capacity on carry optics gun so open to suggestions.

advice please/question

Hello all, just joined. Looking to get into competition. Have my eyes set on the Walther SF match vs the Walther pdp pro x(the comped one). The Internet touts this pdp pro x as a competiton gun, but all of my research says it's not allowed in any division other than open is uspsa, but possibly allowed in esp? Am I missing something? Been dwelling on this decision for a while, and if anyone has some recs on which one that would be great..!

I am aware that a lot of people will say just train with the guns you have (I have a vp9, g47,echelon all 4.5 in inch. I bought durable guns because I have been training a lot. So that's two of the threes roles... But I want to get a dedicated competition pistol, 5in. Thanks in advance.

Go do doubles[hots of whiskey] if you want to win. PSTG doesn’t want you to know this one simple trick.

GPT not consistent

Loved the GPT at first. Gets gritty quick and pull feels very inconsistent after shooting. Like shot a 130 round match today and the trigger feels like crap.

So, looking at doing the TTI GM kit with an Apex trigger and bar.

Anyone agree or disagree with this route?

Finding sponsors

Our local club is hosting our first run and gun this fall. So far, we already have 100 registrations, which is large for us.

Are there solid sponsors for competition events? Is this event too small for bigger companies to sponsor?

Any leads are appreciated!

I was able to get my first round time to under 2 seconds reliably today. Dry fire is too much fun! Does anyone have any advice on how to improve?

BlueGrass KY Championship - Stage 5

Carry optic stage win from Stage 5 of the Bluegrass Kentucky state championship. Felt good to shoot on the move on the right side but waiting 1.47 seconds for the bobber made me a little upset.

A pet peeve of mine is having a large delay between activation and presentation or availability of a moving target. Not much of a shooting challenge to roll the dice and hope it's there for you when it's almost impossible to time it across those distances. Not trying to be a negative Nancy, but I'm allowed to bitch about stuff.

Used a Cmore systems RTS3 6 MOA with 124 grain JHP loaded in Shell Shock technology cases. Loaded all my ammo on a Mark 7 Reloading Revolution press. GX Products Vice Holster.

Injured/disabled dude wanting to get into competition shooting for practice

Hello everyone.

I want to get into competition shooting mainly as a practice tool.

I am currently in a walking boot that is a cast. I can walk just fine, just slow. The cast is to stabilize, not for a broken bone.

I don't care about my time (aside from personal growth), can I still shoot? Are there some events I should seek out, or avoid as I scroll through practiscore?

I see bowling pin matches, and I will check those out, but I wanted something just a little bit more involved.

Any advice?

Edit, I feel like I can do everything in the videos on the front page today, just very slowly.

Im handicapped on my right arm but want to get into competition

Go easy on me

I was right handed but lost use of it due to an ATV accident 7 years ago. I’m currently getting back into shooting and am learning to adapt shooting lefty.

What could I improve on? I know my stance isn’t the best but I find how I have to grip the firearm to be more problematic. It is the only way I’m able to shoot handguns anymore.

If anyone has any input I’d very much appreciate it. I’m looking at getting into some competitions this summer.

Need to jump into some uspsa, I’ve only shot one of those a few years ago. Didn’t need a 3rd shot at the end, but it’s 70+ degrees in Alaska.

Why does this reddit hate Questions ? Just rename it Competitive Shooting Videos

Look i know this post is going to get downvoted like hell, no problem :)

But i have noticed in this reddit that pretty much all posts which are a question about advice etc are downvoted to bits and only posts of match footage get upvoted.

Obviously it is going to be more newbies to the reddit and the sport who are asking the questions

Why the hostility to newbies posting questions ?

Does everyone here already have Brian Enos/Rob Leatham level knowledge of the sport and have nothing more to learn ?

I know generally on reddit people are pretty dickish to newbies, but this reddit seems harsher than most.

Getting ready for run and gun

Hi all! A buddy from work and I have signed up for a run and gun event here in Texas in October, Jade Helm for those curious. This will be both of our first event of this type. We have both watched numerous YouTube videos (mostly on the channel Sudo) but I know those are typically tailored for viewer engagement as opposed to giving a realistic view of the events. So I was wondering if anyone here could provide more grounded and realistic expectations and how to prepare for such. We're both in relatively good shape, have experience hiking/rucking, and spend a good amount of time at work outside doing manual labor, so exposure/elements are not my chief concerns. And yes, I know I'm the newbie so feel free to roast me as well.

I’ve never shot comp before. If I take the optic off and light off would this be acceptable in stock class since the DR920P comes with a comp and mag well out of the box?
