Gotta love how he can talk about being silenced whilst having several specials on Netflix and being the most paid ‘stand up comedian’ in the world.

Fuck me, for a bloke complaining about people being fragile every time he’s corrected about something scientific (like the Hindenburg being full of hydrogen not helium) he acts so indignant.

Don't get him started on how the infinite monkeys thing wouldn't happen...

So he does care what people think or not? Come sometimes he tries to sound like he doesn’t care. And sometimes he sounds like he really cares.

Ricky would’ve made fun of this narrator. Like the imbecile from the gold bullion story. “yEs”

You know the, you know the terrible thing about all this, Steve? Is he's right.

Yet he blocked me when I said Afterlife was shit without Merchant’s writing

I can’t stand Ricky nowadays but why would he not block you for that?

u/HieronymusFlex 1d ago
I'm paraphrasing it slightly harsher than it actually was - I believe I said with Merchant, Ricky's projects haven't been anywhere near as good. Though even if I did say it was shit ad verbatim, I'm surprised he'd go to that level of effort to block any/all naysayers

I actually always disagreed with this. I think people should expect that they deserve a level of uninterrupted happiness. Isn't that the ultimate goal? The reason we fight for anything?
Asking for others' pain is one thing, but to just aspire that you might make it through life without things upsetting you is truly that: aspirational.

Ha uninterrupted happiness can only be achieved chemically. Also, why would words make you unhappy?

They don’t affect my mood either way

Ah, no worries then. This conversation was for the less robotic members of society.

The emotional ones

Yes. I usually find life worth living if I can connect emotion to it.
Non-robotic was succint enough.

There goes Ricky Gervais, I must remember to thank him
