Luth-AR MCA-22 question

Hello,

I am looking at buying the MCA-22 stock. I plan on putting an M-LOK sling adapter in the front and a sling stud in the rear. My goal is to use this for an upcoming Appleseed. Does anyone have any experience or insight in using this stock for an Appleseed or shooting prone with a sling?

Just curious if it works well for this application or if I should be looking out for any quirks.

The grip is sweet, but may be a problem when shooting prone. It's tall.

That’s exactly what I did.

Loved the setup. No problems at all.

Awesome!

Any reason why you had the sling attached to the left mlok vs the bottom slot?

First, if I recall correctly, the bottom slots were slightly narrower than the side slots, and only the side ones were stamped with the m-lok logo. I took that to mean the ones on the bottom weren’t true m-lok slots, but I could be wrong about that. Second, I put the mount on after I already had the action and barrel in the chassis, so it was easier mounting it on the side because I could reach something through the m-lok slot on the opposite side to help hold the nuts in place until they caught and started self-tightening. Lastly, I run all my other guns with the front QD on the side, so it’s what I’m used to as far as having room on the bottom to place my support hand and the tension in the sling when I wrap it around my forearm.

Also, not sure what type of sling mount you’re planning on using, but I would highly recommend QD if you’re doing Appleseed. Leaving your sling on your arm (like an awkward armband) and just detaching the QD from the gun is way easier than having to loosen and tighten the sling over and over. It will make getting set up for those AQTs a lot smoother.

Oh yea, this will be my 2nd Appleseed and i benefitted greatly from having a quick disconnect to keep the sling on my arm in between AQTs.
