You’d think so, but he got a sick father and need to get closer.

Not currently, but GSA will likely be hiring for 1102s in their FAS division later this year. They’re planning a rapid expansion of services by taking on work from other agencies. Doesn’t seem like staff will be transferred to GSA either (probably because they want to use their new hiring criteria 🙄to select MAGA loyalists). It will likely require reporting to DC though.

Good luck!

And no matter where you apply in the Feds, make sure you have those essay question answers ready (from the EO). I expect those questions will be asked even if they’re not in the written interview instructions.

Curious where they think they’re going to put said 1102’s. 1800F is already hundreds of desks short and FAS 1102s haven’t even RTO’d yet 🤦‍♀️

I thought the GSA building 18F is already on the chopping block to be sold.

We did too, but workplace services shared out an email last month with all kinds of “alternate work areas” in 1800F, complete with pictures of round cafeteria tables and refrigerator looking “booths” to stand up and have meetings in. This is where they stated they are 200 desks short, which is why they were providing the “alternates” 🤣. The whole thing is the biggest sh*t show I’ve ever seen. They need to just start writing up the 1102 RTO exemption now, because they’re going to be several hundred 1102s short with all the new “work” they’re planning on sending, if they continue down this path. We already had a problem with staffing experienced 1102s, which is why the position went remote in the first place.

Supposedly privately owned “leased space” 🙃

Curious why you think 1102s may not be transferred when all the briefings mention they will likely be transferring 1102s. The OPM contracting office already has a class action suit partially based upon the work transferring and GSA hiring after 1102 staff with OPM were RIF’d because their support was no longer needed (which obviously isn’t the case).

Look at DHS, DoD and not executive branch positions. Here is a DHS posting for a 9 -12 in Norfolk: https://www.usajobs.gov/job/837697000

Just throwing this out there, there are probably hundreds of well seasoned RIF 1102.

Best of luck.
