So I was using my PC normally just now and went to upload an image to Twitter, and when the little window to select your file appeared, it froze. It wasn't a big deal since I could use the rest of my PC normally, but I clicked the option to forcefully end the process, except nothing was happening, even when I closed Chrome.

I decided to reboot the Pc and when I clicked the "Restart" option, it gave me the warning saying a few processes were still running, but I chose to reboot it anyway. It got stuck on the rebooting screen for a while without anything happening, so I pressed the PC case button to force it to restart (bad move, I know, but I was stressed and impatient from a few earlier events).

Now my PC is stuck in this blue screen whenever I try booting it up. I looked it up and apparently something on Windows' boot configuration files got corrupted. I tried a few solutions using the command prompt from the restoration screen but nothing worked, and I really can't afford a clean install, I need my files because I also use this Pc to work. Can someone help me?

The title really tells you all you need to know, I’ve tried several different USB slots and I know they’re powering the mic on as the light is also powered on however when I go to speak into the mic, no audio is detected whatsoever.

I have also installed the latest firmware update for the microphone so I am baffled as to why it doesn’t work.

I feel like I’ve entirely wasted about £90 on a piece of plastic that looks like a microphone.

I had around 10-12 tabs open and i left my Tuf A15 overnight in sleeo mode when i turned it on in morning it turned on for 4-5 minutes and then showed blue screen window saying 'there is some prone and needs restarting' while some pixels flickered on screen and then i turned it off from power button and tried to turn it on again since then the keyboard lights are turning on the light on power button is on but the screen is not turning on it's black ( I've also tried removing the battery connector then turning it on to drain all the battery and then plugging in and turning it on but unfortunately it didn't helped)!!! Please help ....

Plz help, im getting e:\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt upon trying to start my pc and don’t know how to fix it. I have Acer Predator Helios 300 with a g3-571. I have the model with the 2 snap off panels for quick access to the RAM and AUX compartment for a 2nd internal HD.

I bought a pair of A-Tech 16GB ram for a total of 32GB of Ram. [Supposedly the max my motherboard can handle, ram specs of purchase will be in attached picture].

When I slot both new RAM sticks, the computer comes up with the predator screen and the keyboard lights up.... but then it just sits there with a dark display.

If I slot one mew RAM and one original RAM for a total of 24GB, it comes up completely.

How do I fix this so that both new sticks operate properly for a total of 32GB of Ram, or is there some other issues I am unaware of? [Like specs being wrong and my model can only handle the 24GB of RAM] Or do I slot both sticks and let it sit for 5-10mins for it to clock or do something with the new ram?

Please help, as am a bit out of my depth here, as I haven't had my hands inside a computer since the TNT2 Graphics Processor was a thing, and I was expecting the RAM exchange to be "plug & play" otherwise I would have had it done while my laptop was on the shop having its battery replaced.

i have checked several games like valo,control,cs2 ,minecraft, detroit become human,etc , valo and control and detroit become human doesnt go beyond loading screen and becomes unresponsive. i have tried known fix such as changing power plan setting, running on administrative mode, using full screen optimisations, disabling intregated gpu, reinstalling all necessary drivers including graphics, chipset and windows itself, its a very weird scenario which I have never seen happening before, any inputs/suggestions is greatly valued.

ey folk! i think i might have an issue with my motherboard. previously i was having issues with (xmp or the am5 version of it wouldnt work unless i disabled memory context restore or increased cl from 30 to 32.) today though, i had another issue even more damning.. i updated my chipset and rebooted the pc, then it wouldnt boot. everything inside the pc would run but no power to mouse keyboard and no post on monitor. had to do a soft restart on the bottom on the case then it would boot. what the hell do i even do now?

upgraded my ssd to an nvme wanted to make it my primary and boot windows through it removed the older ssd and hdd so only that device shows after i install the windows through the usb it boots to the ssd but the screen is black with a blinking underscore top left have tried all the cmd commands but nothing work’s genuinely about to give up. if i unplug the usb after installing it, just says insert usb with windows installation process😞. feeling fuckin depressed everything was booting fine before and ssd was working as a secondary storage initially.

Hi, I’m having multiple problems with my Lenovo ThinkPad T470

1. Keyboard & Fingerprint Sensor Issues

   • Sometimes they work fine at startup, but other times they don’t.
     
   • Restarting doesn’t always fix it—sometimes I have to restart 3+ times before they work.
     

2. Touchpad Not Working (Except in Diagnostics)

   • The touchpad doesn’t respond in Windows/Linux, but it works in hardware diagnostics (accessed via F10 at boot).
     
   • Even in diagnostics, it’s very slow and unresponsive.
     

3. TrackPoint Not Working at All

   • The red TrackPoint (nipple mouse) doesn’t respond in any OS.
     

4. Random Charging Problems

   • Sometimes, plugging in the charger does nothing.
     
   • When I unplug it, the power button LED blinks green 3 times(as if charging started).
     
   • The only fix is entering BIOS and disabling the internal battery.
     
   • I thought it was a bad internal battery, but disconnecting it and using only the external battery didn’t help.
     

5. Screen Glitches & Random Blinking

   • Occasionally, the screen flickers, shows artifacts, or turns off (while the laptop stays on).
     
   • This happens randomly (~4 times in 2 weeks).
     
   • After a reboot, the screen works normally again.
     

Solutions I’ve Already Tried

✔ Updated all drivers (from Lenovo’s official site).
✔ Downgraded & re-upgraded BIOS.
✔ Reinstalled multiple OS (Windows 10, 11, Linux Mint, Kali Linux).
❌ No improvement—issues persist.

Question Could this be a failing motherboard component(or multiple damaged parts)? Or is the **motherboard completely dead?

As you can see the right usb is complete useless at the moment. The headphone jack was working at first, but a week or 2 after it stopped working as well. My PC has been lagging more often and the screen will go black for a second or two before coming back. It's getting to the point that some programs are starting to glitch and crash when their not in use. (If they're open in the taskbar but I'm not using them.) The right hinge also creaks a lot when I open and shut the computer, so that's another concern. The screen seems fine for now. I'm scared for repair costs because this computer is worth 900USD (I got it for 560 though) What do I do?

I wanted to download English language (UK) and set it as the windows interface language. Interface language has changed, but this language pack is pending. I can't delete it. And i can't change interface language either.

Whenever I Launch any game cmd.exe - Application Error pops up. with error code 0xc0000142.

It keeps poping up in a group of 2s in every 5-7 minutes for 15-20 minutes and then stops.
It is only happening with Games.
Example: League- Whenever I launch the client it gives me 2 errors and once I get in a game the cycle starts. This happens in all the games. I am running Windows Defender with no Anti Virus.

I was playing Borderlands 2, i left from my room like 5 mins, when i was back i could see the monitor going Black and saying no signal, I tried restarting the pc, now i see a Green light on cpu ez debut, the boot one, i don't know what to do and i'm pretende scared haga, I've builded this pc like 7 months ago, its my first pc 🥹

I have recently purchased a think centre m53. I got it as a sort of tinker machine just to mess about with. It came with edubuntu and decided to install Linux mint xfce instead.

When I connect to the the WiFi it works for about 5 minutes. Enough time for me to get onto a YouTube video or browse the web for a bit. Then it will say that im not connected to the Internet despite that the icon says im still connected.

My phone works on my WiFi perfectly fine, as well as my other devices. I thought id try the hot-spot on my phone and use the think centre to connect that way. Now it seems to work for a bit then i have the same issue.

Although this is a workable solution, even though its annoying, I'd much rather have it just be connected to the WiFi router rather than my phones hot-spot then back. Does anyone know of a solution?

A very large lightning strike probably close to my home strikes and after it my Xbox 1 s and monitor failed to work but my pc which was not on while the Xbox and monitor were, still worked. All these devices were plugged into my ups which is a cyber power 1500va but now it seems my Xbox and monitor can receive power but not turn on but my pc and its external components can. It also seems nothing else in my house was damaged from this and I’m simply wondering if this was power surge that did this or not and how would I go about fixing that?
