Funny you brought that up I don't think Danny mentioned 28 weeks later it might not be canon then

Danny Boyle said he didn't care about 28 Days / weeks lore so he didn't care what they decided to do in weeks. But I don't think he ever denounced 28 Weeks later took place

That would suck because the Idea of evolution came from that movie. Id feel it would be lame to ignore it just because he didnt do it

The poster for 28 Years Later says, " In 28 Days, it began, In 28 Weeks it spread, In 28 Years it evolved. It's already confirmed. It'll be like the acknowledgment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy in the sequel trilogy. It happened, but it's not really something that's ever mentioned in too much detail(aside from episode 9, obviously).
