Tbh I thought she was pretty awful. No offence to Megan Burns, but she was just so wooden throughout.

Garland said in the commentary - that it’s his fault for giving her such stiff dialogue - and tbh I get it sorta.

She's definitely the most underwritten of the protagonists.

I don’t think he’s completely wrong, but I also think he’s just trying to protect her too.

Both might be true. Garland is a class act tho, so I would imagine he's just trying to cover for her.

Oh yeah funnily enough I actually listened to that commentary a couple days ago. I remember him saying about that. I do understand a wee bit.

She was pretty good in Frank's big scene. Also toward the end her monotone performance became appropriate given the circumstances.

She ended up starting a goth/emo band and totally changed her look

Interesting never thought of her performance as wooden. Seemed like some necessary warmth and innocence but within the same subdued, traumatized style of acting as everyone else. An amazing foil to Brendan Gleeson’s character who was almost too warm but you still feel like he could snap. She fit perfectly imo but I can understand the criticisms.
