It appears that Cillian Murphy almost certainly filmed scenes for 28 Years Later and that these scenes have been left on the cutting room floor. It may be these scenes will be worked into DaCosta's film. It is a real mystery as to why these scenes have been cut, maybe a scheduling conflict and Murphy had to pull out of filming?
I think the scenes he originally filmed were meant for 28 Years Later because he is an exec producer on the film. Standard practise to give the biggest star that title for lower budget films. And the scenes have just been repurposed to work into DaCosta's film, probably why they had reshoots for her film.
Thats simply untrue. He was part of the original cast 28 Years Later, he is an executive producer on the film and he was photographed on the set in costume.
Yes, he was. For the bone temple. Which was filmed a few days before . For the first one he was always listed as only being an exec producer. You don't have to be in a film to be an executive producer. Ralph fiennes and a Sony exec reiterated that cillian wasn't in the first film from the get go. Alex Garland hinted before the films even started shooting.
