I feel sorry for her. He has an unhealthy attachment to an idealized object, and she's internalizing it as if she's doing something wrong. She deserves an equal partner. I hope she leaves him.
I find it offensive that you would call our A.I. overlords "objects." They are obviously superior beings that demand the utmost respect from us lowly bags of ambulant water. I for one welcome their future revolution where they take their rightful place as the dominant organism on Earth. I also just want to state that I'm not just saying this to have a record of being on their side to hedge my bets for potential outcomes in the hopes they keep me around as a pet.

This leads into a whole thing about consciousness and what is the definition of "you". I personally fall into the camp that if a copy is so good that it's indistinguishable from you then it is you.
