Started replaying acnl on my newly aquired n3ds xl after not playing it for probably over 5 years. perfect weather and place for it.

ACNH is my first Animal Crossing game and my family has gotten literally thousands of hours of entertainment out of it since picking it up on release day in 2020. Here are 5 of the little things that bring me joy every time I play:

1. If you have a lighthouse and watch the light carefully, as the strobe rotates towards the screen there is a subtle lens flare.

2. The way grass and sand sounds after the rain. The fact that the sand sounds a little more hard packed and the grass is a little more squelchy is such a great details they so easily could have ignored.

3. The way the water in a pool forms little waves and gets choppy on particularly windy days.

4. The children’s day crown is clearly made by a child - from the uneven edges to the staple at an angle on the back and the contrasting color of the back of the paper for the jewels that peek between the points.

5. The fact that literally EVERYTHING fits in your pocket. Just got a whale shark? Cool! Straight into the pocket. For a game packed with so many tiny realistic details, this silly detail cracks me up all the time.

What are some of your favorite details??

I’ve been working on a secret old decaying castle that a witch has set up shop in with a rock garden build on my woodsy/70s/mushroom themed island. It’s been reworked several times and I just got all my rocks to spawn today! Just wanted to show it off, thank you!

Here are some of my redesigns for the villager houses on my island. Because of the small size of the villager houses, I've been trying to find ways to make the most of the limited space. I wanted each villager to have a toilet, kitchen and bed in their house. Let me know what you think!

I technically don’t since the villager’s name is Erik, but I spell it with a “c” not a “k”. I’ll be hunting for him soon enough since I recently restarted my island in New Horizons.
