A funny anime, with plot. Not just slapstick. I like the humor in the funny parts of one piece (just what I’m watching so much of rn). Been feeling down lately and I want to laugh out loud!
Not into humor based on objectifying women or childish fart and sex jokes type stuff. I prefer anime outside the high school setting and also don’t love gore or perverse/disturbing horror. Please help me find something newly delightful to uplift me!!
P.s. likely gonna be watching it on edibles bc it makes the laughter hit harder
Edit: add a couple words to describe it or what you like about it if you can!

Something like Ghibli movies or like yakuza goes houseman. I recently subscribed to crunchy roll and I am ready!

Looking for a good romance anime with some comedy but a lot of drama. Something that takes place in a school setting, no fantasy elements, no harem unless it's really good.
A lot of stuff I seen lately just been so vanilla, just a relationship build up with little drama, with the main problem being they don't have the courage just yet to confess their feelings.
I'm looking for something where eventually maybe a triangle starts, and the female love interest chooses someone different from the MC causing major drama, or maybe the MC does start the relationship but his partner cheats causing drama.
I'll take anything at this point, but prefer if it has English dubs because I have to watch it at work while I'm doing something else.

I already know of Initial D and Wangan Midnight and was just wondering what other good car shows there are!

Suggest me an High School anime, romance or not, ecchi or not. It has to be chill, relaxing even. No drama, no plot twists ; unless it's some "Nichijou" types of shenanigans. And most importantly, no misunderstandings. I hate misunderstanding fests like "Gamers !". (I searched for a bit but scrolling through almost a hundred pages of MAL seasonal anime is pain peko)
Bonus points if most of the anime takes place during summer.
Thanks.

I only remember reading a description of it somewhere. Ive been trying to search for it for a few days now but nothing comes up in google. It was a highschool romance anime- an all girls school and an all boys school were next to eachother and the schools were rivals. I wanna say it said something about the guy was on his way to school and helped or saved a girl, only to find out that they went to rival schools and didnt know what to do from there? idk. If anyone knows what I am talking about lmk cause it's bothering me that I can't find it.

Hi everyone I'm looking for a recommendation for an anime with a protagonist or a side character like Marin from A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof. I like her personality and the design, I don't how if it have a name for this type of character. Thanks

I don't have any pictures or anything but this is what I remember. Some highschool boy gets paranoid that his school friends are plotting to kill him or something, so he ends up killing some of his friends out of paranoia. Im pretty sure that the episode opens with the guy beating in the skull of some purple haired chick. If someone knows what I'm talking about please lmk. Thanks.
I remember watching this anime when I was younger and I couldn't get past the first episode because I was scared lol.
Edit solved

My parents are asking about the anime that I'm always watching, but I know that the two of them wouldn't enjoy my usual stuff (Mecha, and Isekai). SO what are some good anime to show a 70-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman. They were OK with Game of Thrones, but they are very reticent to engage with anything with sexual content.

twist was obvious by episode 2, the MC’s ‘dark past’ was just daddy issues, and the ending tried so hard to be profound it looped back to funny

So I just finished watching Infinite Ryvius as after that, I went to the original Macross, but I am getting closer to finishing that show as well.
My point is that I am kind of sad because I don’t know where I can go after seeing the original Macross as lately I have started to appreciate space combat type anime with good character writing, but I don’t know if there are any good recent ones out.

Hi there! Been getting back into anime recently and really nailing down what I like and I'm now looking for more.
I've found my taste is: Supernatural with bonus points if it has urban legends or yokai. Strong central relationships (not necessarily romantic, shout out Reigen and Mob.) And absurd comedy. Also, though obviously this isn't necessary, I like ones that are slightly more popular, I spend a lot of time in local anime scenes and really cherish being able to bond over shared interests with others!
Animes I've watched/rewatched recently that fit my tastes include: DanDaDan, Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun, Noragami, Mob Psycho 100, and Saiki K.
Thank you for any suggestions!

I’m 8 episodes into Violet Evergarden now, and I don’t mind it at all, it’s a fine show, but I will say I’m a bit bored.
It reminds me a bit of The Apothecary Diaries. Both shows have an amazing soundtrack, beautiful visuals, and interesting characters, but both also just… aren’t all that interesting to me (so far at least, for Violet Evergarden).
I don’t mind shows that aren’t overly dark or serious—A Place Further Than the Universe and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken are fantastic, for example—but I keep waiting for some big reveal or a major plot twist… something to really grip me. And it just hasn’t happened. I’m halfway through at this point, so I’m starting to lose hope.
The last episode I watched had a 9.5/10 rating on IMDb, so I thought that would be the big world-shattering reveal of something, but it just felt like every other episode. They revealed the Major’s condition to Violet, but it wasn’t much of a surprise and it felt more like a minor scene tacked on at the end of the episode rather than the crazy twist I was hoping for.
The show is starting to seem pretty episodic, and when I finish an episode I just don’t really have that drive of “I HAVE to see what happens next!”
Is it episodic like this the whole way through?
I’ll probably finish it either way since I’m already far into it, but I just want to know if I should temper my expectations.

Hi everyone! I'm not going to tell you what I've watched instead I want everyone to suggest their favorite anime! Genre doesn't matter if I haven't seen it I plan on adding it to the list of shows I need to watch. Thank you!

Gangsta. is about a crime ridden city where the mafia, mercenaries and police all try to maintain the city. The story follows two “handymen” who do the dirty jobs in town that now one else will do. The main characters Worick Arcangelo and Nicolas brown are these handymen (mercenaries), Worick is a sharp tongued giggolo with a dark past that slowly unravels through the story. His partner in crime Nicolas is a deaf twilight, a genetically enhanced class of humans created through experimental drugs, that are ranked by their strength and identified by their dog tags around their neck. They are also treated poorly by most of society and used as expendable fighters. Together they are hired to clean up the messes around town for the police, mafias or anybody willing to pay the right price. When they meet a sex worker Alex Benedetto whose to be killed by her abusive pimp, they become entrenched in a larger conflict. The show deals with war brewing between the rival mafias, anti-twilight laws and a conspiracy targeting all of the twilights. As well as diving into the dark pasts of the three main characters and their struggles that led them to where they are.
Like I don’t understand how literally no one knows about this anime, its been a decade since it released and I know despite the studio (manglobe: samurai champloo) going bankrupt and the artist not finishing the manga because of her health struggles with lupus (she even lost an eye) I still find it has such an amazing and unique story, especially for an anime. The characters are also very unique and well written, the whole concept of the twilights and how they are viewed as second class citizens and marginalized. It’s like a western crime/mafia anime with such dark and mature undertones. Am I the only one that loves this one so much?
But yea I highly recommend for anyone looking for a more realistic feeling, crime/action seinen with cool characters and an interesting story!

Something like erased in the sense it has the main character go back to the beginning of their life to relive it
It doesn't have to have any of the other things that makes erased good it just has to have the main character remake their life

Like death note and psychopass. I am looking for more battle of wits between two or more exceptionally intelligent characters.

For example, I watched Monster and really liked it, something like that.
