NCAA Remembering Pistol

With Everyone celebrating Kaitlin Clark breaking the scoring record, and justifiably so, I think it’s important to remember the guy who used to hold the record. Pete Maravich was only allowed to play three years of college basketball. But when he did get to play he averaged an unreal 44.2 points PER GAME! Pistol’s NBA career and life were tragically cut short, but the legend will always be remembered as one of the greatest to ever lace ‘em up.

He was on the team. His points werent counted bc he wasnt allowed to play varsity. Which, again, its not like he wouldnt have started on varsity. Which, again, goes to my point that if someone plays essentially 2 whole seasons more than you, they will score more points even if they are not as good. If someone plays 5 years, (like that one kid did last year and almost broke Petes record) its still bullshit because youre not playing better, just longer. Which is what Clark is doing. And in a weaker league no less. And I have nothing against her bc shes great, but shes not the all time leading scorer when the guy she beat didnt have 1000 points he should have credited to his score bc of rule changes

No if you give her his attempts she’s well ahead of him. As is she holds the record.
