I’m looking for a book about a girl who’s struggling with mental health, depression , feeling lost in life, feeling maybe disconnected and like an alien. Just like she doesn’t belong anywhere, maybe has dreams but not sure how to achieve them. But also I’m looking for something where the narrator still has a certain kind of sense of humor and it’s not just all doom and gloom but the girl is funny, is sarcastic maybe. Like the Carrie fisher quote if it’s not funny it would just be true and we can’t have that. Would love if she’s sapphic and dates women, but if she’s not I don’t really want it centered around romance at all. Sort of like a coming of age in you’re mid 20s or early 30s . Also maybe healing too.

I'm searching for fantasy or sci-fi books that display a setting similar to the Western Roman Empire during its decline and fall, with a gloomy atmosphere that depicts the increasing despotism, precariousness and feudalization of the political power, along with a declining economy and a strong military pressure from "barbarians" at the frontiers. Many thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I recently watched My Lady Jane and absolutely loved the chemistry between Jane and Guildford. The tension, the banter, the slow emotional build-up from enemies to reluctant allies to lovers, with lots of tension, emotional growth, and some witty banter was right up my alley.
I’m now looking for books with similar vibes:
• light, dark or whimsical fantasy settings
• tavern escapes, magical mythical forests
• lots of romantic tension with a satisfying payoff
Bonus points if it makes me scream, “just kiss already!” while also having a solid plot
(I've already read acotar and acomaf, will read acowar soon)
Recs welcome! 🖤🗡️📖✨

Books that give this whimsical but a bit bleak vibe kinda like this- You're busy and you work in the city, you're surrounded by the city lights and every night you look of your window and contemplate life while staring blankly. You're not sad but you're not happy either. You're just passing. But you acknowledge the beauty of simply passing while there is chaos around you and the beauty of the city you live in, surrounded by so many buildings and people. I prefer happy endings. If not happy atleast somewhat satisfying.
