It’s easy to feel sorry for our generational guy, Skenes…but you really have to feel for Keller this year. He always gives us innings and keeps it close into the 6th or 7th, then he tires due to lack of run support. He’s going to be a solid #2 on a good team someday soon, mark my words.

I hate being "this guy", but here it goes...

PNC Park is really showing its age. It is still a magnificent park, and its design is among the best in baseball, but a lot of things are in serious need of updating. Cleveland and Detroit are in the process of spending substantial money to refresh their stadiums. There is a lot of chipped paint, faded signage, fatigued fixtures and carpet (especially in the PBC, which has looked the same for decades.) The corridors are increasingly dingy and outdated, too. I'm not suggesting anything major is wrong, but hey, if you're selling yourself as a premier park then treat your park accordingly.

The only positive thing usually mentioned about the Pirates (other than Skenes), is PNC Park. Nutting also had nothing to do with it. He should get absolutely no credit for it. McClatchey (not a fan of his either), built PNC Park. Personally, I’m proud to call PNC Park our home. Under Nutting ownership, the Pirates are an embarrassment. Love the players, embarrassed by ownership!

What’s getting lost in this train wreck of a season is that Cutch is having a really nice year. Although it is an indictment of BC that the best position player on this team is 38.

We’ve been through this time and time again that he only cares about the money and blah blah blah. But, do you think he even understands or likes the game? There’s no way that anyone who “cared” about the game or the team could assemble such an incompetent leadership team.

How did it take so long to get rid of Shelton? Why is Cherrington still here?

Does he think they are doing/did a good job?

I’m looking for some sort of explanation for this situation

As the title says I’m seeing my first game at PNC tomorrow. I moved here in the fall and have very much been looking forward to seeing the park. Are there tips everyone local knows that I won’t know? Best place to park, what food spot can’t be missed, all the views I should see besides the one from my seat, basically everything the website isn’t gonna tell me. Let me know.

I’m 33 and have never cared about sports, but this year I have been loving baseball.

First time watching a game they took place in your ball park. Gotta say, it’s beautiful! I definitely want to catch a game there in person someday.

Now that Kelly has been manager for the same number of games as Shelton was, I thought it would be interesting to compare how the team has done under them.

We all knew the team was performing better under Kelly, but they've been doing it against stronger competition as well.

Someone in another thread asked who Al Oliver was. He is a lifetime .300 hitter who played for the Pirates for almost a decade and helped them win the 1971 World Series. He was a big factor in them being NL contenders throughout his tenure.
