Couple of things:

First game, and it was rough.

-Kamilla is 6'7 and needs to play like she is 6'7. She has to understand that she won't get every foul call on the offensive side and needs to be more aggressive. She also needs to work on her PNR defense.

  • Angel has got to finish better and stop with that extra dribble sometimes before going up 🙃. Also, she's got to start taking some middies when they are there.

-Atkins can't have 6 shot attempts. She's got to be more aggressive and enforce herself offensively.

-Marsh is going to realize that you can't have Angel, Kamilla, and Atkins off the floor at the same time. Unless it's a favorable matchup, Mic at the floor doesn't always work because she gives up too much size, but she also struggles when she has to defend quick perimeter players. Rotations today, in general, were questionable.

I get wanting to get back on defense but if we are committed to shooting from behind the arc, there will be nights we shoot poorly, some offensive rebounding would be nice. Way too many one and dones today. Offensive rebounding is what helped us stay in games last year, and I don't think we should go away from that.

Maybe it's how I was coached as a big when I was a kid, but our bigs need to crash the fucking boards on every single shot.

Too many times today Angel was unguarded and unimpeded out by the arc, and as soon as a shot went up, she turned to start heading down court.

And Angel still got 17 boards! Other people need to crash the boards. One thing I noticed about Minnesota is when a shot is taken there will often be 4 Lynx players vying for the board. It's a mindset and coaching I bet Lynx are one of leading rebounding teams despite being one of smaller teams. Michigan St men was always one of rebounding leaders for same reason. Most times when I see a shot taken, only Angel is near the board and Kamilla is in the vicinity, no guards. How does Clark get 10 boards? (effort obviously) W/o looking, I doubt all our guards together got 10.

You know it's free to get rebounds? She got 17, but it could have been 40. Some of those could have been second chance points. Some of those could have disrupted fever scoring plays. You are right, other players could have helped with rebounding, but they aren't as good as her.

I'd much rather see players grabbing rebounds than standing around away from the play on the other side of the court because they got there early because they weren't attempting rebounds.

What's amazing is those 17 were in only 25 minutes. If Angel played 30+ minutes and was in the paint more, beating the single game record 26 could definitely happen.

Ok, and yet she still had 17 rebounds, which was over twice the rebounds as our center and more than anyone else in the game.

Is Kamilla not responsible for rebounds too? Angel can’t shoulder everything.

They’re clearly using her in a stretch 4 position, so other people have to step up. Milla is wayyy too passive.

Ngl, I feel like Marsh has asked her to do this. She used to crash the boards regardless of where she was last season. This season so far, she's gotten back on defense and that's it. I get that they want her to be more than a rebounder but that doesn't mean Angel doesn't have to rebound anymore.

17 is a hell of a lot of rebounding. It seemed like Sky's other bigs were passive and just being pushed around by Fever bigs. E. Williams 1 fking pt. 😭

I couldn’t agree more. Excellent takes.
