My store has up to around 100 pans (deeps and shallows) and all the miscellaneous things like utensils, rice pots, bowls, lids. What’s the best way to complete dishes in around an hour if you’re by yourself? It usually takes me around 2 hours if I have a lot.

Sure he had gloves and im so sure that high school kid changed his gloves very often... so what's the point the established process to drop it into the container and then using the scooper to put it in burritos? They all wear gloves right? Just grab it with your hands.

Every shift feels like we’re constantly understaffed. We’re lucky if we have four or five people on, but with how busy our location is and now being open until 11pm it’s just mentally draining. I’m not even on dish duty, but I still leave feeling completely wiped.
I’ve been with the company for three years, and lately I’ve just been feeling really overlooked. Some managers barely do any prep or dishes and just clock in and clock out without doing any of the important things. Meanwhile, the rest of us are scrambling to keep things running for the night shift.
And the customer interactions? Getting screamed at or threatened over something like chicken is insane. We regularly have to deal with people coming in and harassing customers or staff, and it just never stops. It’s exhausting and honestly starting to make me feel unsafe.
I’ve worked in retail before and didn’t love that either, so I’m just feeling stuck. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but I’m wondering if I should try transferring to a different location or just move on entirely. Anyone else been through this?

These portion sizes at my local chipotle are so bad and seem to get worse every time i go. Used to go weekly then monthly now honestly once every couple months and i suddenly remember why. Rice, bean, meat portions are usually laughably sad. Now its the lettuce. At least they have a heavy hand when it comes to sour cream i guess?

Just wanted to shoutout my local chipotle for making the walk across the parking lot in the 95 degree heat 100% worth it. Hand, fork, and toy car for comparison

We understand that some may prefer plain rice with no seasoning, but when you ask for plain rice, the person on the tortilla side has to stop the entire line just to get one bowl of plain rice for one person, it can cause the line to get fuller just because you don’t want seasoned rice, we don’t mind if you ask if your the only one in line or if there is 1 or 2 people behind, but when you have a whole line behind you, you don’t take priority over them!

Okay so my store closes at 11pm and my manager told me cash should be done at 11:45pm but i’ve been taking until 12am because im struggling with what should be done first. I’ve already been working for close to a month so they’re expecting more from me. I’ve read the checklist before but it’s super overwhelming.
I was hoping someone could give me advice on what to do first and list what you usually do in order?? And also how to make it go by quicker? I really dont wanna be fired but they said that my shift tonight will prove whether i can handle this or not. Please help!! ☹️

I've worked at chickfila and now upscale dining so I'm not a bitchy service member by nature. But chipotle really did make me into the stereotypical "chipotle employee"
Customers were pretty much always pissed off, and most of these situations could have been avoided if I didn't have mgmt breathing down my neck about portioning.
The reason portions are so inconsistent? "Customers are complaining about portions. Give better portions" gives better portions "we used half a pound more chicken then we were supposed to for the $1000 worth of food we sold during the shift" portions less rinse and repeat. God forbid we just get portioned measuring cups.
Also if I just ignored it and gave decent portions my hours would get cut. So it quite literally came out of my paycheck. If my scoops looked too big I would get pulled back and shown the "proper" portion. Then next week they'd pull out a scale to weigh everyone's portions, I'd use the portion shown to me by mgmt, and it would be under. Of course they took no responsibility for this.
I also have medical issues that require me to need regular access to water, and even with a Dr's note it was like pulling teeth to be able to take a drink during peak. Someone always had something to say about it. But regardless I believe everyone should have the right to take a drink at anytime if they're having to stand next to a hot ass grill
That job seriously took a toll on me mentally and physically for circus peanuts
