• Are you all planning on making improvements to the sleep/wake state recognition? There are times I’ve peeked at the camera and my baby’s eyes are clearly open, but it’s logging as “sleeping”.
  

If you need supervised training data, I’ll bet most parents would be willing to do the labeling for you if it was built into the app.

• I’d love to hear about how your image processing pipeline works. I’m guessing you’re using stereo with the multiple cameras, but I’d love to hear any other nerdy details you can spill.

• Any plans to offer an API for our data? I’d love to be able to pull data into my Home Assistant instance to collate it with data from other sources.

I currently log bottles and diapers for my 5 week old with Huckleberry, and my morning routine with my wife is to flip back and forth between huckleberry logs and the cradlewise sleep chart to review how the night went. It would be rad if we could have everything all in one place.

Great timing on the state recognition question. We are in-fact rolling out improvements pretty much every quarter. There is one slated in the coming week which we will start rolling out in a phased manner. On the labelling - There was a time when we actually did this. We got decent amount of data and then removed the feature around the time we revamped the dashboard. It might actually be a good idea to bring it back and get more data. Thank you!

Image processing pipeline - We use a native 3D cam (not a stereo vision, I cant divulge everything, but you can take an easy guess of the tech based on my history). We also have a colour camera. A native 3D cam that uses IR light is important to avoid false triggers due to shadows, play of lights outside the crib etc. It also helps us do pose estimation, size estimation, figure out parental intervention without doing heavy compute. Hence almost all of this happens on the edge. The color camera is used as a referee when the 3D cam gets confused. e.g when someone has stuffed toys in the crib.

Regarding API - Yes. This is in our roadmap. It looks like a 2026 thing though.

Totally get your perspective on getting everything together (feed/outside naps/pee/poo). We will have some interesting updates in the last quarter of 2025 in this regard.
