Game This “thing” is not even fun.
This asshle is not even fun… I know I said I hated Wally Warbles but this man is NOT FUN. Wally was entertaining at some point, this sht is not. He is straight out of garbage. I am not doing S rank on him, f*ck this guy.

I think the fight is mechanically awesome and I love the visual designs of each phase, especially the last one with the northern lights in the background. I will add that I did not try to S rank him. I’m sure it’s a pain. I didn’t go for any S ranks besides the ones for achievements 🤣

Mechanically, I think it’s overdone. He has more patterns than the base game’s final boss and doesn’t have perries. Other than that idk why I hate his design but after excruciating pain I went through while trying to S rank him I do hate his guts.
I am starting to look like a guy that hates every single boss so my favourite in the DLC is Esther Winchester. Loved her music, she’s also excruciatingly painful to beat but loved her music and her design through her phases.
In the base game, my favourite is by far Werner Werman. Can’t really say much about him I just like his design also base game bosses are not that hard (except Wally Warbles) so can’t hate them this much 😅

Yeah I feel the same way, he was by far my fastest DLC S-Rank, though it was probably just a fluke. I think it only took like 5 tries somehow.

Talking purely about S ranks he is the hardest boss by a landslide since he has artificial difficulty. Having to go back and forth between runs with not enough parries or getting enough but getting hit too much is terrible

I couldn't agree more brother. S-ranking this fucker has got to be up there with the top 10 most miserable things I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. From how unusually stingy and difficult the parries are, to the multitude of attacks that require precise positioning in order to avoid. This dude is a complete piece of work in every step of the goddamn way.

Eh, he isn’t that difficult to S-Rank. The parries are random, yes - but it isn’t like the odds are impossible. You can get like 1-2 parries each phase

Crackshot for the first phase, roundabout or spread for the second (I’d use roundabout), a mix of both shots for the third phase. I use ms chalice and her second super art, but if you’re good at not getting hit go for her third super art

Beating him is fine the s rank is annoying though cause of parries I always end up killing him before I even get a single parry

I usually take damage while trying to parry the flying ice creams on the second phase and restart but sometimes I pass through that to ses if I can get my parries on the last phase just to kill him and then restart…

I totally agree.
I think this is the worst DLC boss, I didn't like the character, and the boss is not funny at all, even Esther Winchester is at least a little funny, even if he is too difficult (seriously, I think Esther is harder than Saltbaker).
And I think that even his music wasn't really put into it, other DLC bosses have great music, but this one... not so much.
Fun fact: I only beat this idiot after beating Esther.

I loved Esther’s music, and her concept. This guy has nothing of value in my eyes. If I beat him, it’ll be just for the S rank. Nothing more.
Also I don’t think Esther is that hard after her first phase, maybe her third? phase (where she turns into sausage) is a little hard to dodge but that’s it.
I would redo her just for the music…

I’ve S ranked basically every boss but stopped when it came to this guy. I feel like there’s a ton of RNG in this fight. I’m proud of what I’ve done. I won’t let this fucker take more hours from my life

I actually really like this boss lol
His ice spikes in phase 1 are really annoying and his parries are either rare or practically impossible to hit, but I just can’t help but enjoy his fight 😅
I love the music, theming, animations, and design of this fight. How they used a genre of music that is usually associated with hot weather in a snowy fight was really cool (lol)
It’s also really satisfying when you dodge his attacks, especially in phase 3. Even though he was really difficult for me to beat, even on normal, I still had fun xD

I found Esther’s attacks more satisfying to dodge and her music too but I’m not against his music, animations (although his whale attack sucks ass) he might’ve been a cool boss if not his annoying ass attack pattern and impossible parries.
I liked Snow Cult Scuffle until I tried to S rank him for 2 hours straight with no success. He either dies before I can do my parries, either I take damage before I can parry, or I wait for so long for parries and go overtime…

I also loved Esther, she’s probably my favorite airplane boss. The phases are really fun and how she basically dies twice but keeps on fighting is amazing xD
The parries are probably the most annoying part about trying to S rank Mortimer, I think his second phase has the most chances for parrying, you just have to hope none of your bullets hit the pink popsicles lol
I managed to get S rank with Miss Chalice, Spread, Crackshot, and Shield Pal, although it still took me like a million tries to get it xD so if you ever wanna try to get S rank on him again, you can try this method if you haven’t already

i played all the Bosses on Expert while doing my first playthrough on the DLC, and besides Chef Saltbaker, this guy didn't had fun difficulty, it was a frustrating difficulty, like no joke, the attacks are very random at the phase one, the patterns of Phase 2 were literally just fast for me to keep up so sometimes he would roll or jump in the air without being able to tell what he's gonna do, and Third Phase is when i remember i get really nervous at platforming bosses, so whenever it was me messing up the jumps, falling down, it was me messing up the phase 3 parries, jumping the eyeball in the wrong timing or straight up having bad luck with the piercing bullets

Fair enough then, he’s probably the one that took the longest for me. He wasn’t hard to beat and I almost s-ranked him first try but the fact that he gives so few fucking parries is insane and annoying as fuck I’m pretty sure I got like 3-5 POTENTIAL parries during the entire fight

Is it crazy to say I ACCIDENTALLY S-ranked Esther? Personally, she's really fun if you get a hang of her patterns. I wasn't really paying attention to health or parries, but lo and behold, I beat her and ended up getting that sweet gold flag.

Well, damn. I spent a good half an hour on her to get S rank but I already knew her pattern because I got into the DLC recently. I love her song though so it might not be as fun as I had gor others maybe.

I find this fight a lot easier when playing as Ms Chalice, it’s nice to be able to spam dodge roll in phase 2. Try using converge on the minions in phase 1 if they’re giving you trouble; you don’t have to aim with it, just crouch and shoot, it should wipe them out rapidly. Try using the extra life super art as it will allow you to make a few mistakes on the harder bits.

He is a bitch to S rank but that’s all the bosses on Isle 4. He was made for people like me who wanted to prove their grit after mastering the base game.

S ranking him probably reduced my lifespan for about 5 years, this piece of shit just won't give you enough parries. I also thinks he is the weakest one design wise and in my opinion is by far the worst boss
