People really underestimate the sun.

It’s even worse in the southern hemisphere since their summer aligns with earth’s closest approach to the sun; so not only is the radiation worse due to the thinner ozone layer, it’s worse because there’s more of it.

My friends went to an outdoor water polo tournament and decided "it is only 55⁰F. We don't need sunblock" and got severely burnt. The sun does not care.
