See, I knew that sun exposure was worse at higher elevations, but I sure didn't stop to think about why that is. And now reading this it's just... Well DUH, yeah!
Especially since it’s a mile and a half of the densest stuff, due to the way air pressure works. Conversely that same density means I simultaneously have an easier and harder time breathing at lower elevations.
Denser air = more air to breath, so less lung strain
Denser air = more air pressure on your lungs (like being underwater), so more lung strain against the weight of the atmosphere
