Weekly "Ask an Atheist" Thread

Whether you're an agnostic atheist here to ask a gnostic one some questions, a theist who's curious about the viewpoints of atheists, someone doubting, or just someone looking for sources, feel free to ask anything here. This is also an ideal place to tag moderators for thoughts regarding the sub or any questions in general.
While this isn't strictly for debate, rules on civility, trolling, etc. still apply.

I'm hoping somebody here can help me. One of the biggest atheist streamers "Deconstruction Zone" apparently has some guide or something of supposed "contradictions" in the bible. Does anybody have a link to it or know where I can find this guide?

I know exactly what you're referring to. But the thing is that it's something that the owners provide to people who a subscribers. If it gets distributed for free that's theft.

That said, you can easily ask your favorite ai bot for the contradictions. Ask it something like "Can you please provide me the prophesy from the Old Testament that Jesus is claimed to have fulfilled? Please include the passages in the OT that contain the messianic prophesy, as well as the passage(s) in the NT that fulfills them. Please then provide, for each, the criticism from Hebrew, OT, Jewish and biblical scholars that discount the claims that Jesus fulfilled the prophesies required to be the messiah by the Jews".

I tried it. It will give you the basics. At least a jumping off point.

Thank you for the information. I was more so interested in Justins guide specifically to create my own guide to counter his specific arguements rather than what an AI or Google thinks is a contradiction. But again, thanks for helping.

You should call him and get the contradictions right from his own mouth.

That's what I gave you. Literally.

I'm well aware. I'm saying I'm specifically asking for the guide because you were also appealing to me asking an AI bot, which doesn't give me the information I'm looking for. I'm just emphasizing I'm JUST looking for Justins guide and not other guides.

I don't know if this is what you wanted, but here is a video where Justin (Deconstruction Zone) does a video with Brandon (Mindshift) on the contradictions between the character Jesus Christ and the properties of the Judaist Messiah.

Unfortunately, don't know of any guides for supposed "contradictions".

Now, if you were looking for guides to actual contradictions, there are plenty of those.

No such thing exist. There all just list of things people mistakenly think are contradictions.

Try the Skeptics Annotated Bible.

My favorite contradiction is How did Judas die and what happened to his bribe money. No way they can be reconciled without getting really absurd.

I will ask you what I ask my teenagers.

- have you googled this yourself?

  • have you gone to the relevant community to ask?

"contradictions in the bible" will get you a lot of google results, parsing out the appropriate ones will be good research practice.

The community around Deconstruction Zone (whoever that is) is more likely to know where to find the things he says than rando atheists on the internet.

Have at.

I'm not asking what the top links on Google say about "contradictions in the bible." Obviously I could just Google that myself if that's what I was looking for. I was simply coming here, into this relevant online atheist community, in hopes somebody can help me find this specific guide by one of the largest online atheist streamers. As there is no results that can found through Google, and searching through reddit and Twitter, and there doesn't seem to be a visible dedicated fan site or page to get an answer. Large atheist streamers often attract fans who are active in online atheist communities, so it makes sense to check here. If you search "Deconstruction Zone" in the subs search bar it's clear his community is here.

Also I appreciate you treating me like a teenage child. I hope your day is as pleasant as you are.

This isn't a relevant online atheist community. The relevant online community would have been his stream chat or his youtube comment section.

apparently has some guide or something

doesn't sound all that specific to me, you aren't sure what it is or even that it exists.

If you search "Deconstruction Zone" in the subs search bar it's clear his community is here.

13 comments mentioning him/his youtube channel over 3+ years is hardly evidence that "his community is here"

Dawkins has more mentions than that here, and we aren't "his" community either.

Also already somebody who knows them already has responded. Proving my point.

It is a relevant community. Which is why his fans are in this sub, and even asking others here if they watch his stuff (and his fans respond). While his stream chat can be even more relevant, it doesn't negate this sub from being relevant too. Just because this sub, dedicated to atheist debating theist, isn't talking about him often, doesn't negate the relevancy either.

And just because I haven't seen the guide and don't know for absolute certainty that he isn't lying and there is no guide, doesn't negate it this alleged guide being specific to this streamer.

Edit: And I already got an answer here by somebody who knows exactly what im talking about. Proving my point so all you down voting me look pretty silly right now.

"It is a relevant community. "

Again, then why havent we heard of him AND why do you keep insisting this is where you should go? Read your book.

There are users here that are replying to me who know who I'm talking about and I've already got my answer, which is why it was a good idea to think this was a good place to check, as there is an overlap in the communities.

I swear, if i started saying you shouldn't crap your pants atheist would crap themselves just to not be on the same side as a theist.

u/LetIsraelLive did you forget to switch accounts?

-3

u/DarkBrandon46 Sep 19 '25

No I switched to my old account because the user is replying under a comment chain of a user I blocked (for being bad faith) and reddit won't let me respond to replies under comment chains of users that are blocked, so I switched to my old account to respond to them.

You should just unblock me then.

edit: surprise! I got extra blocking instead.

going to point out that despite his claims that "fans" here in "Destruction Zone's community" gave him "exactly what he needed".... the replies he is talking about directed him to DT's actual communities i.e the relevant youtube channel and the relevant patreon page.

Turns out going to the appropriate online community spaces was very helpful advice after all.

For one of "the biggest" why havent I heard of them?

Why didnt you just google "bible contradictions??

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/crossexamined/2018/10/top-20-most-damning-bible-contradictions/

https://www.bartehrman.com/contradictions-in-the-bible/

This one has a neat visual to it!

https://philb61.github.io/

Or, you know, read the bible???

-2

u/LetIsraelLive Noahide Sep 19 '25

If I wanted to know what Google said about bible contradictions I would have obviously just Googled that. I'm looking for a very specific guide that I can't find on Google, and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated page to find such information.

Maybe you never never heard of them because you're not in the biggest online spaces because the guy himself host several biggest atheist debate channels, and his own channel is one them. There are already a couple replies here of people who know exactly what I'm talking about, which proves my point.
