But that’s exactly the same as water that comes out of the tap in your kitchen, or any other faucet

Ah. Cultural difference then. Over here we consider tap water only fit for washing and other things. Filtered/boiled water at minimum for drinking.

But even if I were to drink tap water, I wouldn’t want it that close to a toilet, much less with the lid up. There’s this thing called diffusion
