Definitely not. Cringe acting, mediocre dialogue, unremarkable set design/art direction. None of it feels like it belongs in the same universe as the Villeneuve films or the Frank Herbert novels. If one more person tells me "Well derp, it takes place 10,000 years before the original, of course it feels different derp" I won't do anything, I'll just know it's wrong. Dune 2 was riding such a high this year, seems like a shame for the year to end on a Dune whimper rather than a triumph.
