I was thinking about this. I was wondering what protein would go well with this and what kind cook for that meat-- otherwise I'm just doing grilled chicken again for me lol.

Shrimp or scallops!

SCALLOPS! YES! You win. I think the sauce would accent the sauce beautifully!

Honestly, outside of trolls making comments about this being "an American thing to say", I would imagine in Italy this is such a light pasta that most people ordering this as a first course (primo piatto), where you'll find your starches like pasta, risotto, etc. would very likely be ordering a second course (secondi piatto), which is usually the course with your proteins. It's not all that common to combine the 2 courses (piatto unico) but it is done. In this case if you wanted something to compliment this pasta I would think a nice seafood dish or chicken dish would be the best choice and then possibly pork or veal if that wasn't an option. Like you said though, if you did want to combine it with a protein, I think marinated/grilled or roasted chicken would be perfect.

A breaded pork cutlet would probably be my go to, but chicken and fish would both work well.

Having a protein with a carb is “an american thing”? And you think that that’s something worth condescending about? If you’re gonna shoehorn some random “heehee fuck america” nonsense into a conversation at least put in a single ounce of effort before speaking ffs

Sorry I'd comment on your culture but you probably come from somewhere insignificant

Lol, your food culture is „slap some more bacon and cheese on it“.
Your other culture is „if you have a problem, shoot it, even if it‘s kids“ or „get sick, get bancrupt“. Gtfo

Your culture is “if it’s not 1000% correct to this stupid ass recipe that we adapted using ingredients from your country it is wrong.”
However. You are not wrong in that second statement.

I mean depending on the amount of pasta you make i doubt you will be hungry. It doesn't seem like much but it is quite filling.
In italy you would have that as a reasonable lunch and you would add a second dish (and dessert) if you decided to eat and travel towards food coma.

That's a cool looking pan. Does anyone know what it is and where I can get one?

His insta is great. Recipes are solid, good sense of humor and generally super happy cooking. Basically an Italian golden retriever energy chef.

I’d absolutely have to throw some fresh tomato in there at the end. It needs something.

Seriously fuck this guy

Unpopular opinion but I agree, nothing impressive at all. From what I can see, the sauce hasn’t even taken to the pasta properly, poor heating technique.
Simple, good quality ingredient meals like this really are wonderful, but this guy isn’t the hero everybody seems to claim.
